Parenthood‘s Dax Shepard wrote, co-directed (with David Palmer) and stars in Hit And Run, and the trailer for the action romantic comedy begins playing ahead of The Dictator this week. The movie, formerly titled Outrun, is about a nice guy (Shepard) with a questionable past who risks everything when he busts out of the witness protection program to deliver his fiancé (Shepard’s real-life wife-to-be Kristen Bell) to Los Angeles for her dream job. They are chased by feds and gangsters. Bradley Cooper, Tom Arnold and Kristin Chenoweth co-star. Open Road is releasing it August 24.

Can never tell from a trailer how funny a movie will be so we will have to see. But Kristen Bell is fantastic, that is already known.
Sadly, Kristen Bell has been awful since ” Veronica Mars.” It has hurt her career because she is still not a leading lady .
Here’s a tip- It never winds up being funnier than the trailer.
Looks like a pretty good cast here. Like Cooper and will always love Bell for Veronica Mars
I heard about this movie, wasn’t sure what it really was about, but this looks really funny! Kudos Open Road
Terrific cast. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard could charm the pants off of clergyman. Definitely seeing this.
Kristen Bell!!! I love her. And Bradley Cooper! I am so there!!!!! Can’t wait…
Looks like its got all the right pieces to be a winner. I’m psyched. Great trailer.
strong contender for sleeper hit of the summer
Looks like a fun movie to end the summer
That’s funny to hear Bradley Cooper say “part of the world my ass traveled to.” Looks great.
You had me at “ghost riding your car”.
Terrific ensemble, looks genuinely fun and it’s particularly great to see Owen Wilson back in a role that’s squarely in his wheelhouse (and where he’s not expected to carry the movie). Rooting for this one.
Owen isn’t in this movie! It’s Dax Shepherd and Bradley Cooper… but I bet if they had a baby that was older than both of them, that baby would be Owen Wilson.
Hope this isn’t Brothers Justice 2. Worst movie ever made.
whoops. just mistook Dax Shepard for Owen Wilson. Still going to see it!
This looks awful so stupid and repellent. An ugly stupid movie with ugly stupid characters doing really dumb things. Shit and Run is a better more accurate title for it. A waste of time and money and further proof of how so many horrible scripts get made.
Stick to Battleship if this one looks too high-brow for you.
You haven’t seen the movie, so why so hostile? Did the producer of this film foreclose on your grandmother’s home?
Looks promising. Smart move for Bradley Cooper to puncture the rumors. Who cares?
The first five comments sound like the same publicist posting under five different names.
Agree. “Let’s set the tone!” they’re thinking.
Wonderful trailer, funny characters, and great cast and production team. Winner chicken dinner!
It’s also co-starring Joy Bryant, his Parenthood co-star.
Seriously – if I’m going to this, it’s to see Joy Bryant
Not sure about the other comments, BUT this looks terrible!
got my tickets already at fandango!
kristen bell’s best role since SPARTAN! moreover, love the rape jokes!
Funny film, sexy lady. Kristen Bell is a ten.
There are so many plants here that it looks like a greenhouse…
Damn, Schindler’s List didn’t get this much advanced praise. Tone it down on the shills, Open Road.
I really look forward to seeing this movie and I don’t care what any jaded hater on this thread thinks… or any accused PR planter. It’s not my movie… I’m not attached to it in any way.
I did read the script… and I laughed my ass off while really liking these characters. Simple as that.
So when I saw this trailer, I was pleasantly surprised to have a peek at how the script was translated as it looks to me like the team behind this film really stepped it up, especially with the indie budget I had heard they were working from.
If this film can secure strong early reviews, great word of mouth and succeed with some smart non-traditional marketing… HIT AND RUN could be a dark horse winner this summer.
Look, with so few numbers of good marketable indie projects being financed or even theatrically released.. it’s nice to see some success hopefully come from of the struggle.. no matter what the genre.
I forced my hottie to see “The Help”. He will probably force me to see “Hit & Run”. We are both old enough to remember that “Bonnie & Clyde” looked like crap in the previews.
