Comedy director Adam McKay’s very serious documentary about the dropout epidemic in American schools gained a key ally today. Scott “Scooter” Braun, who manages such musical acts as Justin Bieber and The Wanted and produced Bieber’s 2011 concert movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, has signed on to produce the film along with McKay. The project has been in development since McKay hooked up with documentary filmmaker Jason Pollock last fall.
“Addressing the education crisis in America, which includes providing support for the communities and students where ‘dropout factories’ exist, has to become a priority for our country,” Braun said in a statement. “We hope that this project reminds everyone, from career politicians to kids sitting in their dorm rooms, how important it is that every child receives a quality education and as a community it is our responsibility to step up and do everything we can to make sure that happens.”
The filmmakers hope to use footage they’ve assembled for the still-untitled documentary as part of a school tour in the lead-up to this fall’s presidential election.

Didn’t Bieber drop out of school in Canada once his YouTube career started taking off? Did Justin ever graduate high school? They should make the kids watch that episode of Happy Days where Fonzie went back to high school to get his diploma then they will understand the importance of graduating.
No it’s called home school.
Justin is graduating high school in May. He skipped a grade. He has a 4.0 gpa. He’s working hard to graduate in May. Thank you very much.
Don’t all entertainers with private tutors have 4.0s?
A private, one-on-one education has a funny way of working out for the student. I wouldn’t say it’s a true test of intelligence.
That a girl
haha
No he didnt drop out. He just left public school to pursue his carrer. Being on the road and touring he got set up in a school situation for kids in the entertainment industry. Its like homeschool but they still have exams and certain hours. He is still in school and close to graduating.
This is great. This story needs to be told.
To the majority of commentators, way to miss the point.
Yes. Justin just graduated high school. Not too long ago. Justin was homeschooled. And scooter made sure Justin had time to fit in school.
Why does no one think he hasn’t graduated yet? He has.
Once again Hollywood can’t wait to tell the story of how fleeing conscription is tragic. We must all submit!
Justin is the Bomb…scooter would make sure Justin is legit in academics….its not a fraud..its the real deal….hes SUPER SMART…it shows….great job guys!
He did he had a teacher a has a diploma
