MundoFox, the newest of Fox Hispanic Media’s quartet of Spanish-language networks targeting the U.S. market, unveiled its launch programming today at the Ziegfeld Theatre in Manhattan. FHM’s sports network FOX Deportes, women’s lifestyle oriented Utilísima and Nat Geo Mundo also presented their programming for the coming broadcast year. FHM networks offer the U.S. Latino market “innovation and choice … that will allow marketers to more effectively reach the new Latino consumer,” said Hernán Lopez, president and CEO of Fox International Channels.
MundoFox — Programming for the summer launch includes a combination of teleseries, telenovelas and unique weekly series created originally in Spanish in addition to a daily newscast, live sports and family and children’s programming. Program titles include El Capo, Kdabra, Corazones Blindados, Minuto para Ganar, Allá Te Espero, Santísimas, Los Pobres Ricos, El Joe and Amo de Casa.
Fox Deportes — Continuing exclusive coverage of live sports events will include UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League, Copa Santander Libertadores, Copa Bridgestone Sudamericana, Major League Baseball, Golden Boy Promotions Boxing and UFC. Sports news and commentary shows Central Fox and La Ultima Palabra.
Utilísima — Two-year-old Utilísima is the fastest-growing Spanish-language cable network among women 25 and over. New shows in development include Tu Vida Mas Simple, the new season of La Pastelería and Qué Piensan Los Hombres.
Nat Geo Mundo — Year-old Nat Geo Mundo presents programing from National Geographic Channel in Latin America that has never aired in the U.S. There are also newly commissioned and acquired original series and specials as well as National Geographic Channel content repurposed for a Hispanic audience. Highlights feature Don’t Tell My Mother hosted by Diego Buñuel, Tabú Latin America, The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan and popular Mega Factories.

It’s a New Broadcast Channel all it’s own but i’m sure in some cities it will end up on a Sub-Channel.

I find it great that their is a network for South American countries and Caribbean countries, but I find it highly disturbing that only light-skinned Hispanic and Latin Americans are represented in its networks promo. In this day in age its amazing how the color caste system in those countries work. Truly sad, but I guess their aren’t any dark-skinned people in those countries.
I just saw the ad for Fox Spanish language network. What is wrong with FOX? What a vile, devise thing to do to our country. This doesn’t help anyone to be inclusive when you support this type of language division. The gall of FOX to announce it on July 4th, the birthday of our country, is added insult to the injury. I had never heard of it before until it was advertised today. I am certain there will be a website devoted to boycotting your sponsors. I have never thought about starting any website, if someone else doesn’t I just my do it.
So? It’s not OK if choose to listen to a more conservative FoxLatino views or should I only listen to the “lefty” views of Univision. This country is going to the toilet and Gay Marriage is being endorsed by the president – How does that sit with all of you? Where are the latino moral views?
I will be boycotting all of fox’s programming from now on. If you are in this country legally, then you should be able to or need to be able to speak English. I don’t go to Germany or France and expect them to have their shows in English. I learn their language.
Don’t compare our great country of freedom of speech to other countries that don’t have our great laws. This country, of which I was born in, is incomparable to any other country in the world. This country was found and fought for freedom for all diversity! That is why the settlers left their country, to escape laws that wouldn’t let them speak or practice their language or religion! Wow, I the “Real Americans” would know that simple part of our history. OH, don’t get me started if you really want to get specific, well then, this country belongs to the Native Americans and the Mexicans! How you like them apples! This country is not Anglo Saxon! It’s a diversity country to speak freely which happens to speak English as the first native language because government started out as English speaking people but not for the only English speaking people. Wow, do I really need to explain this to you ignorant people? Get over it! The Spanish people are here to stay and we there are too many of us for you to want to wipe out. Ya, your better off leaving this country if you don’t like it. We are not going no where! I’m an American of Mexican descent parents and proud of it and proud of this great country, thanks to Freedom, what this great country represents.
