UPDATE, 10:08 AM: Looks like the fast nationals for last night’s America’s Got Talent (3.7/10 in 18-49) actually tied with the Live+Same Day rating for the show’s May 14 premiere for a season high among adults 18-49. Since the talent reality show is often adjusted up in the finals — as was the case May 14, when it drew a 3.6 in the fast nationals, last night’s episode could very well post a new season high when ratings are released this afternoon. Among total viewers, last night’s show hit an outright total viewership high.
PREVIOUS, 9:04 AM: Maybe it was Howard Stern finding his stride or maybe it was the St. Louis-based auditions, but with a mix of repeat and new show, America’s Got Talent hit a season high Tuesday. NBC’s 8 PM repeat showing of Talent (2.0/6) provided the lead-in to a new episode (3.7/10) at 9 PM. The latter was up 12% from last week, with the Midwest auditions garnering 11.3 million total viewers. NBC finished off primetime with a Grimm (1.3/3) repeat. NBC won the night in the adults 18-49 demo.
On ABC, the 8 PM season finale of Cougar Town (1.2/4) was up 20% from its series low two weeks ago, drawing 3.5 million total viewers. At 9 PM, ABC went jubilee with the special ABC News: The Real Queen By Her Own Royal Family (1.3/4). CBS went back-to-back with NCIS repeats. The 8 PM NCIS (1.4/4) flowed into the 9 PM NCIS: LA (1.3/4), and the network ended the night with 48 Hours Mystery (1.4/4). Fox aired four New Girl (1.0/3) repeats from 8-10 PM.

The show has been great this season, and Howard Stern gets better each week as a judge (and as a broadly accessible TV personality). I’m not even a Stern fan, but I think he’s hilarious on this show.
NBC should really lock this guy up now for a second season.
Nice post Baba Booey.
I agree, he’s really good.
Stern is great – but I would only attribute this to there being NOTHING to watch on TV last night except for this show.
After watching many seasons of this show, both my husband and I decided we would not be watching because of Howard Stern. I think he is about the lowest life on this planet and to have him actually be a judge on the only decent summer show is a shame. So thanks for the venting-guess it’s doing Ok without us!
The show is doing just fine without my family watching this year. When I found out Howard Stern was going to be one of the judges, I said enough is enough. I loved AGT, but I am doing just fine without it.I am sure the fact my TV is not tuned to AGT has not hurt your ratings at all. Its just a shame you didn’t get someone besides Howard to be one of the judges. If Howie quits, mabey you can get the Manson guy to take his place.
This is my favorite show on TV. All the judges are great, Howard Stern does however shine above the others! Great show, sign all of these judges for another season.
AGT still pulling in #1 ratings. Stern has proven to be an excellent judge & has proven his critics wrong….again. AGT fans who disapproved of Stern before giving it a chance are the ones who are missing a hit.
Yeah, AGT is still #1, but viewership is down a few million. Seems like both sides can claim victory.
