There were a lot of primetime repeats on Memorial Day, but NBC decided to go ahead with new stuff. A new one-hour 8 PM episode of America’s Got Talent (2.7/8) was down 16% from last week. But with brass bands and other auditions out of Tampa, Fla, the show’s 10.03 million total viewers still easily won the night. Following at 9 PM, American Ninja Warrior (2.0/5) was also new and also down. The sports battle show fell 17% from last week’s Season 4 premiere.
Monday’s two-hour 8 PM The Bachelorette (1.8/5) was down 25% from last week’s one-hour 10 PM episode; it featured a date visit to Dollyland and an appearance by Dolly Parton herself. A repeat of Castle (0.8/2) followed on ABC at 10 PM. In the same time slot NBC repeated the pilot episode of Grimm (0.9/2)
In the end NBC was the highest-rated network in the adults 18-49 demo and total viewers with 6.18 million. ABC came in second with 5.22 million total viewers.
CBS had a night of repeats starting with How I Met Your Mother (1.1/3) at 8 PM. That was followed by 2 Broke Girls (1.1/3) at 8:30 PM, Two And A Half Men (1.3/4) at 9 PM, Mike & Molly (1.2/3) at 9:30 PM and Hawaii Five-0 (1.2/3) in the 10 PM slot. Fox aired back-to-back episodes of the now-finished House at 8 PM (0.7/2) and 9 PM (0.8/2)

America’s Got Talent is so much better this season with Howard Stern. I’m actually really enjoying it.
Do not think Stern has added anything to a show which is getting weaker in quality. In fact, last night Howard was downright stupid voting against the man who sung television theme songs. Granted, this is somewhat limited, but the man was charming with a wonderful voice. Listening to Howard dump on this man was absurd as Howard spent much of the show ‘gushing’ over far less talented, but ‘politically correct’ acts.
I don’t have a problem with many acts getting the trip to Vegas who are not going to have much chance to win. The reward is cool.
And, for this reason, Howard is ‘not’ as he “X-ed” this gentle man.. And, speaking of ‘knots’, I wonder if Howard can tie his own shoelaces after watching his work on the escape artist.
American Ninja Warrior is an amazing program. NBC should replace its entire primetime lineup with G4 programming. Adam Stotsky is a genius!
The competition reality show is dead. People moving back to scripted TV. Finally.
So much for Howard Stern improving the ratings. He’s a repulsive, offensive guy. It’s not a surprise people aren’t flocking to see him.
I never watch AGT, singing shows, dancing shows etc.
I like howie so I started watching AGT. I enjoy it. It’s like a tamer version of the gong show.
Howard is fun and lively and some of the acts are very stupid and funny. I always cringe but laugh when someone with no talent is surprised when they get gonged, er, Xed.
I’m a new fan. What can i say?
keep that damn egotistical Stern off the stage. What an asshole.
