Friday was a good night to be Grimm on NBC. The 9 PM season finale of Grimm (1.6/5) was up 33% from last week. The end of season one of the fantasy drama drew 5.3 million viewers, winning the night among Adults 18-49. Grimm both tied its highest 18-49 demo rating and its highest overall audience since January 20. Over on ABC, at 8 PM the season finale of Shark Tank (1.5/6) was down from last week’s 1.7. The entrepreneur reality show, recently picked up for a full 22 episodes next season, had 5.53 million overall viewers. Grimm’s 8 PM Who Do You Think You Are? (1.0/4) lead-in was up over last week. The genealogical series tied with its highest 18-49 rating since March 2 and its biggest overall audience since March 23 with 5.54 million viewers. 10 PM’s Dateline NBC (1.1/4) was down from last week’s 1.2. ABC’s 9 PM Primetime: What Would You Do? (1.2/4) and 20/20 (1.2/4) were both down from last week. With back to back finales of Nikita (0.4/2) and Supernatural (0.6/2), the CW held reasonably steady. Nikita was even with last week’s show with 1.47 million overall viewers in its 8 PM slot. Supernatural, which is moving to Wednesdays next season, was down from last week’s 0.7. CBS aired repeats of Undercover Boss (0.8/), CSI:NY (0.8/3) and Blue Bloods (0.8/3). Fox went all out on Kitchen Nightmare (0.8/3) from 8 – 10 PM.

Good for Grimm, one of the few freshman shows that both survived and deserved to.
Fringe viewers tuned in because that show’s finale was last week.
Still wish Who Do You Think You Are would get a renewal. Most of NBC’s crap will die by midseason anyway and they’ll need to plug some holes.
They have several hole-plugging shows prepped for midseason.
Wow, NBC’s constant efforts to make the show fail didn’t work.
Has Grimm gotten better? Watched the first two episodes and was bored.
Yes. I was skeptical at first, too. Another cop show with sci fi window dressing. Bland lead. Doesn’t look good.
But I stuck with it, and it’s evolved far beyond its just-a-cop-show roots, and Nick has also evolved as a character into someone who is both a butt-kicker and a very compelling and sympathetic focus for the story.
And Monroe is always great.
You are on point scifi_fan. Grimm has grown up throughout the season and I became more engaged. I love Monroe…he brings a different flavor. I hope to see Grimm next year.
Love all the Grimm characters, but Monroe is also my favorite
No it’s terrible that’s why it got an early pickup for a second season and gets consistently solid ratings.
Not a good endorsement there, lots of bad shows get good ratings. This is a GOOD show with uh, okay ratings. For NBC. On Friday. LOL!
Ratings does not equal quality. Hello Jersey Shore and Secret Life.
Better but not good. Okay. Writing and lead actor improved a lot. The writing still needs work. The supporting cast outside of the police chief, the wolf guy, and his girlfriend- well the rest leave something to be desired. I find the police partner boring. I don’t think the girlfriend character either makes much sense or can act. The writing is improved but still loses a lot on what could be a more textured show. They often have these moments, but no one ever seems to build upon them, that could lead to a lot of interesting dynamics.
Yes, grimm is terrible. Its so boring and really just another procedural.
Who’s the “storybook villain” this week? I feel like I’m watching trailers for ONCE.
Actually, Grimm has improved as it has gone along. Certain not boring or terrible. Here’s a thought, if you don’t like it don’t watch it, but doing that takes all your fun away……….
Valiant effort.
grimm is a great show. i believe it has great potential.
Sadly, I have to sacrifice this show next season, thanks to the CW changing the time slot for “Nikita”. Now, with three of my favorite shows (“Fringe”, “Nikita” and “Grimm”) in the 9pm Friday time slot, something has to go.
I was – and still am – hoping that SyFy will pick up the show for syndication, as they have with previous NBC shows, like “Surface” and “Dark Skies”.
I’m not surprised that Grimm’s ratings went up. The writing has gotten much better, and it’s become one of my favorite shows to watch on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings. After I found out from some of my co-workers at Dish that the new Auto Hop feature would be available on the Grimm finale if I waited until Saturday to watch it, I was thrilled. I chose to enable the feature, and I watched the finale without any commercial interruptions…it was heaven! I can’t wait for season 2 to start; I think it’s going to be as good as or even better than this season’s finale.
