Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino have joined the cast of Mother’s Day. The indie drama follows 12 sets of Mothers and daughters over the course of a single Mother’s Day. Sarandon and Martino are the first cast announced. Paul Duddridge, who also wrote the screenplay, will direct Mother’s Day. Danielle James is producing. Martino played Sarandon’s daughter in 2002′s The Banger Sisters and a younger version of her mother in 1995′s Dead Man Walking. Martino is repped by Paradigm and One Talent Management. Sarandon is repped by ICM.

It’s real smart to ensure no Republicans will go and see the film before production even starts. Eliminating 35% of the potential viewers. Great idea.

12 sets of mothers and daughters in a 2 hour movie. so that’s approximately 5 minutes of screen time per mother or daughter. which means there is zero character development and the relationships are all just prototypes. This is gimmick filmmaking. It may make money, it just doesn’t make sense.
Susan Sarandon is gorgeous. That is all.
Can’t wait.
I don’t know. A lot can be done in 5 minutes of film time and it depends on how it’s done. Looks like a fun movie to me.
