EXCLUSIVE: FX has put in development a drama project created by Oscar-nominated actor Tim Roth and Homeland co-executive producer Alexander Cary as a starring vehicle for Roth. The untitled project, from Fox21, is described as a drama about addiction, bank robbery, and an extremely volatile family dynamic.
The FX project, which has received a script commitment, stems from the deals both Roth and Cary have with Fox21 parent 20th Century Fox TV. It reunites the duo who first worked together on the Fox/20th TV drama series Lie To Me. In his first U.S. series gig, British actor Roth starred in the drama procedural, which Cary joined as a story editor at the beginning of the second season, rising quickly by the end of the season to executive producer and co-showrunner. Roth is with CAA and attorney Geoff Oblath, Cary is with WME and New Wave.

Sounds good. Also, wherefore art thou ‘The Americans’, ‘Port Royal’ and ‘Inside’?
“Why are you ‘The Americans’, ‘Port Royal’ and ‘Inside’”? Brush up on your Shakespeare, buddy.
If he had posted “Why are you ‘The Americans’, ‘Port Royal’ and ‘Inside’”, do you honestly think anyone would have gotten the allusion? It would simply have sounded like drunk posting.
Not the point, the allusion doesn’t make any sense. I assume he means where are they, which is not what “wherefore art thou” means.
NBC missed out, they should’ve gotten Roth to Play Hannibal.
Use to love Roth until Lie To Me. Just bad.
Will the network be sending residual checks to David Michod for lifting the entire premise of ‘Animal Kingdom’?
I wouldn’t bet any money on Roth as a lead. What was up with him in season 3 of LIE TO ME? He appeared unstable und suffered visibly from dry mouth, especially in the first episodes of that season, if I remember correctly. Roth in the arms of different actresses was one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen.
LIE TO ME was fine when it was about this interesting world and about *all* the characters in the agency. The Tim-Roth-Show didn’t work at all.
Beg to disagree about Tim Roth. He is a versatile actor, with both great dramatic and comedic skills. Lie To Me had 3 different showrunners, was bounced around the schedule, and given little support from Fox. There’s plenty of blame to go around for its demise and it all can;t be laid at Roth;s feet.
