Every time Scott Harris loses a client, an angel gets its wings. Love this.
Wait…This is news? Who is Nina Dobrev?
Please don’t call yourself “LOL” when you’re making one of the most hackneyed comments in the history of the internet.
Her career is done after Vampire Diaries. Poor girl what’s she thinking. Next stop Abrams.
It is sad to see that Nina Dobrev and Abby Bluestone parted away. (Abby is one of best talent management people in Hollywood. She helps Amanda Seyfried to become a star.)
correct!! Dobrev’s loss.
Yeah. Saw that one coming.
She’s a stunner — I give her career three more years tops…
who cares? little talent, huge ego.
Abby Bluestone worked her ass off for this girl and took her from complete obscurity on DeGrassi and made her into a TV star. While ego and the lack of loyalty is nothing new to our business, Nina happens to be ruthless and an opportunist. With those qualities and our town, she will do very well.
wow – sad that after her agent worked so hard to get her where she is… she leaves – good luck Nina! You’ll need it
I agree that Abby is one of the hardest working agents in town. She has taste, humor, and above all integrity. Abby Bluestone worked incredibly hard for this girl. She took her from complete obscurity when she was on “DeGrassi” and got her the lead on “The Vampire Diaries.” Pretty is a dime a dozen in this town, especially when you have limited talent.
She starts all these great actors and they leave. she should become a manager or go to a bigger agency.
Agreed that Abby should head to another agency – she has a great eye, a solid work ethic and she has a real track record. She should be at one of the big 3 (4) and do her thing there.
APA is calling
APA? A step up from Innovative????!!!!!! NOT!
Dying to see where she lands, if anywhere…
I love watching all these people tear down Dobrev while venerating her agents/managers as these wizards who just “got her” the lead on VAMPIRE DIARIES. I’m sure they worked hard for their client, but at best they got her a meeting or audition. Dobrev was the one who “got” the part. (And I’m not just saying this as her imaginary boyfriend.)
It kills me when actors leave agents and managers when they kill themselves for clients and the clients can’t see it. Ego and delusion.
Nina’s EGO is not her AMIGO.
This is not Nina’s problem. Abbie who is a good agent, at a bad agency. Abbie should have left with her handful of clients and secured her future instead of staying as the big fish in a very small pond.
You hit the nail on the head. Abby has been at that agency for far too long and has seen the likes of Chloe Moretz, Shiloh Fernandez, now Nina Dobrev (and NUMEROUS others) leave her. While Innovative does a good job with building and breaking talent, they don’t have a lit department, and don’t rep any directors or producers. It’s only a matter of time before actors jump ship to fresher waters. I’m surprised Amanda is still with Abby. That has more to do with long years and personal loyalty than anything else.
I did not know that a starring role on one of the most popular teen shows around the world is “complete obscurity”. I guess I learn something new every day.
She’s well within her rights to find new reps. Real classy move leaking this to the press in order to feed the signing frenzy. Just be warned that behind the sweet face lurks a manipulative and immature girl. This is just the truth.
Poor agent? Her agent gets 10% of all work she helped Nina book. Now, Nina has chosen to move on — and????? Why is someone good and someone bad here?
I don’t get it either an agent and a client have a mutually beneficial relationship. Agent books work and client gets gigs. Agent get paid for her work. People are acting as if agents put in all this extra work out of the goodness of their heart. If the relationship is not mutually beneficial anymore than why is it wrong for one party to move on?
Because Nina is a ruthless, devious, moderately at best talented actress, who has dreams of grandeur. She’ll go to CAA or something, get her shot, it will flop, and she will sail off into the sunset as many of them do!
Hey Ghost of Girfriends Past
Why bash Scott Harris after he just took a hit with her leaving? What did he do to deserve another Angel just got her wings? His agency launched her …
NO one cry for Scott Harris. He has every client sign papers and will continue to commission this show as long is it is on the air. He expects to lose each and every client. Sucks for Abby though. She should go to WME.
I’m sure she’s getting her new agent to read something she really likes for ‘she and Clooney’ — oy vey. Good luck with that. I will NOT miss her at Sunday dinner.
I don’t watch her Tv show…i don’t have time, some time i will catch up but come on the girl was playin 2 soooooo diefferent roles and she was absolutely fantastic in both of them!
Whever she wanted you could tell the difference between the two and whenever she did not want you just could not!
Nina is very talented…more talented than actresses like Kristen Stewart!
If she will do the right moves now (even without her agency)she can go far!Plus i can see one biggest agency going after her after watching perks ,ehich will lead them to TVD!
She will now go to an agency that will not have her in their top 350 priorities. Just in her category , leading female. At least at Innovative , they would have been personally motivated to get her a feature film career. Next stop , can’t agent on the phone after signing meeting. Will go to WME , to not pay commissions on raise for season four. Same old , same old. Then the big powerful agency will explain how the direct offer for another CW series makes a lot of sense.
WME actually does an excellent job with young actresses!Have you seen Emma Watson’s future projects. They are 6 and most of them are highly anticipated!
They put you in a box and play favorites. Now, her old agents should have been rolling her
Seriously people…. EVERYONE LEAVES… that’s how this business works. Nina earned her role on TVD because she was the best actress and she has played more roles on the show than most series regulars ever get the opportunity. Abby didnt discover her. Shes been working for years and it was only after the MTV movie did hollywood notice. Its the natural progression for all actors to move to more powerful agencies and management companies when they need to boost their career. Abby and IA do not have the same clout in this town as the bigger agencies. Bigger companies have been chasing Nina for years… she remained faithful to Abby and IA who were not able to get her the bigger projects for her hiatus that she needs to propel her. Grow up… this is a business…
