EXCLUSIVE: Comedy writer-producer Vijal Patel has signed a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios. Under the seven-figure pact, he will join ABC Studios’ new comedy series for ABC Family Tools as a co-executive producer. Patel, repped by APA and attorney Bruce Gellman, spent the last three seasons on the ABC/Warner Bros TV comedy series The Middle, most recently as a supervising producer. His series credits also include the Fox sitcom ‘Til Death.

Wow, terrible people is right! – If you hate organized, compassionate, and super talented bosses who nurture your creativity, never waste your time, and who let you leave to watch your kids’ play or t-ball game.
