BREAKING: Star Trek‘s Chris Pine has co-written and will star in Mantivities, a comedy that has been set up with Waterstone Entertainment heads Jeff Kalligheri and Stephen Bowen. Pine wrote the script with his buddies Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau. Michael Patrick Jann is attached to direct. The comedy focuses on a group of friends in their early 30s, all in various stages of permanent adolescence. They get together with the aim of helping one of them grow up. Pine will produce with Sarah Babineau, Jordan Foley and Waterstone’s Kalligheri, Bowen and Steven Garcia.
“I couldn’t be happier to begin the adventure of making Mantivities knowing how much fun we all had writing it,” Pine said. “‘Somehow I get to laugh with my friends and call it work.”
Jann is repped by CAA, Pine is managed by John Carrabino and Gendler & Kelly, while Waterstone’s repped by Gersh’s Jay Cohen. Greenberg’s repped by CAA, Baker by The Kohner Agency.
Waterstone’s first film, The Letter, is a psychological thriller that stars James Franco and Wynona Ryder, with a domestic deal near as Cannes begins.

Let’s hear it for, Sarah Babs! Sooo happy for her.
“‘Somehow I get to laugh with my friends and call it work.”
As long as the people who pay $12 a ticket are laughing as well!
Good God, please tell me this is not another white male movie about misogynistic white males.
Depends, are you praying to your own personal white God, or to my far cooler Hipster God of Burning Man? Because my god will smite this project down, just say the word.
Is there anywhere left to put my name on that script too?
Nice work Garcia!
Congrats to everyone! Jeff and Jordan are great producers!
From the title, I’m assuming this is about men with cavities…?
Will Greenberg is a comedy powerhouse on the page and on the screen, and Pine SLAYED in Trek. In the immortal words of BIGGIE SMALLS, “If you don’t know now you know.”
Whoever Will is, you’re undermining him and making him look like a self-aggrandizing moron with this asinine post of yours.
Will all the Judd Apatow wannabes clap twice.
Says Judd Apatow lol… Judd shouldnt you be searching for new projects rather than trying to latch on to every group of people who choose to do comedy? You cant take credit for everything. Well I guess you can but you would look like a self absorbed tool.
AMAZING Group of people who put this project together. A ton of talent on this page and just a genuinely good group of people which is hard to find in Hollywood. Best of luck on your endeavors guys
Wow. Just Wow. Chris Pine is soooo funny. When I think of all the things that he has done to make me laugh my head starts swimming. He is hysterical in all those funny things he has done. So glad he’s doing a comedy.
Ian Gotler is hilarious, buddy.
Such a great group of people with working on this project indeed! So proud to see one of my most talented friends Steven Garcia be a part of this project! This group will produce something amazing and I cant wait to see it all come together!
