MGM is moving quickly on its Robocop remake. Abbie Cornish has been offered the female lead in the Jose Padilha-directed remake of the Paul Verhoeven-directed original. The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman has been set to play the title character, a cop who, near death, is turned into an indestructible crime-fighting force, and then begins to remember his past life. Cornish has been offered the role of his wife, who thinks she is a widow. Samuel L. Jackson is also reportedly in talks to join the cast. Cornish will next be seen in The Seven Psychopaths and just appeared in the Dave Riker-directed The Girl, which bowed at the Tribeca Film Festival. She’s repped by WME and Untitled.
New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6

Thanks but no thanks. The original rests on my DVD shelf with pride. No need for a “fresh perspective”.
What if it was by Darren Aronofsky?
No, ILDC, not for me. Not even then.
Echo that.
Well, at least you`re not judging a movie before it was even shot.
That’s his point, IT HAS BEEN SHOT. And shot well. Why not re-make something that was a good idea but done badly?
She’s great and looking forward to this reboot!
This is what W.M.E. does for her? See you next pilot season Abbie.
Abby is one of my favorite actresses. She’s got the beauty and the chops. Hopefully the movie will launch her career further into the stratosphere rather than hurt it.
I don’t understand why some people are so much against remakes. If you think the original was such a masterpiece and you don’t watch a remake, then don’t watch it. No one is forcing you to watch it or to read articles about it or to buy the DVD.
Why not revise the structure of the the film and cast this fine performer as the lead character instead of stale and boring dude?
