Ann Curry will bid viewers adieux this morning from her spot as co-host of NBC’s Today show, she told USA Today. “I’m going to have to tell our viewers. That’s what makes me more emotional than anything. I don’t want to leave them,” Curry said. “I love them. And I will really miss them.” Curry segues to a new multiyear contract with the network 
leading a seven-person team covering stories for NBC Nightly News, Dateline, Rock Center and even Today plus filling in occasionally as anchor on Nightly News and other telecasts. Even though viewing her new gig as a dream job, the public process of her exit from Today has hurt, she said. Defensive at the suggestion that she lacked chemistry with Matt Lauer, she said “you know, Matt and I have had great on-air chemistry for 14 years, been part of the No. 1 winning team for a history-making number of years. That said, I just finished my freshman year as co-host. In every single co-host’s first year, there have been kinks to be worked out, and perhaps I deserve as much blame for that as anyone.”

And the Today show has just lost another viewer!
Ann Curry has given her best to NBC for 15 years! She is a consummate professional with a loyal fan base who will walk when she leaves as well! As they should!
And like Ann said, every body has to work thru the kinks in the first year! Does NBC really not think that much of her to work it out. And Matt Lauer is just as much at fault. He’s a sexist pig who thinks hes the king of the world!
Now that Ann is leaving the actual Today show (and not NBC as a whole which is what they deserve) and go to a competitor, I cant wait for NBC to lose even more viewers!
Ann is a scapegoat, she is not the reason for the rise of good morning America. Today is just an old fashion show
Too bad. I think Today’s major problem is that the show has over extended itself and by branching out into a third and fourth hour it has lost its focus. These morning show gigs must be brutal, you’re dismissed as kind of lightweight for even doing them, the hours suck and except for the top 20 minutes (maybe) it’s all fluff. The pay might be good, but I think you have to be somewhat mediocre to succeed at that hour.
Sorry to see this happen, I’ve always thought Ann is the most sincere person on Today! Will now start watching CBS in the morning if they put Savannah on this spot!!!!!!!

I am finished with The Today Show. Ann Curry should have gotten the job when Katie Couric left. Now, NBC delivers her another slap in the face. I’m done with you people.
I agree that Ann should have gotten the job after Katie. Meredith did a good job though. Matt probably wanted Ann to leave because she steals his thunder. He is pretty egotistical and I think I can live without him. There are other shows to watch.
The Today show is terrible to remove Ann Curry sad day. Thing is Ann did a great job.
Ann is a class act as is Meredith. I am not a fan of Matt and therefor will not be tuning in to the Today show. I hope to catch Ann on the Nightly News and Dateline.

Today’s been going downhill for a while, and it’s not all Ann Curry’s fault. Over-reliance on fluff journalism: entertainment news, Royal Family, missing person/murder case of the week, etc. I’ve recently started watching CBS This Morning. If you want to watch a news show for actual news, it’s the best option of the Big 3 in the morning.
I will miss seeing Anne Curry on the Today Show. What sad news we received yesterday morning and at the same time I’m happy to see her moving on to bigger and better things. I know she’ll do a great job at contributing to Dateline and NBC Nightly News. I was bummed not to see her goodbye show live yesterday, but thankfully I record the Today show every day on my Hopper. I was so glad my coworker at Dish suggested that I upgrade to this equipment. This morning I was able to start watching this recording in my living room and continue watching it in my kids’ room! It was so convenient because I was able to get things done, while I watched.
I was shocked when the Today show let Ann Curry go. Ann is the most caring and tender hearted person on television she is a great reporter also the work she has done overseas has been very professional and interesting as was her daily work on the show..you hsve 2 girls on there that try to outtalk each other so you can’t hear what anyone else is trying to say..the only reason my husband and I watch the today show was because of Ann and Al..
I loved Ann Curry she is why I watched the today show. I will no longer be watching, I will watch a morning show that has a little bit more integrity than to let go of the best thing they had going. So long the ‘Today Show’.
