The premiere of Lifetime‘s new reality series Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp last night drew an underwhelming 726,000 total viewers and 254,000 adults 18-49. The series starring Sarah Palin’s daughter, which aired against MTV hit Teen Mom, fell dramatically from its lead-in, Dance Moms, which delivered 1.8 million total viewers and 992,000 18-49s. Life’s A Tripp, which had received mostly negative reviews, also was well below the debut of the Lifetime’s now-defunct Roseanne Barr docureality series Roseanne’s Nuts, which opened with 1.6 million total viewers and 863,000 adults 18-49 before falling off precipitously in subsequent airings.

Sorry to hear it described as a bomb. I hadn’t expected it to be a huge ratings bonanza, but for a reality show about a young mother who isn’t a whacko, stripper, or movie star, but a normal person I thought it was pretty good. We only just watched the first episode, on DVR, but I still plan to DVR the rest and watch them. It sounds better than watching yet another season of Whale Wars.
Lifetime slit their own throats by airing it against teen mom and at 10pm
Different day and time and better numbers
Typical PDS running rampant on this unbiased review of the show. I like how it has better ratings than Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert and yet it is a bomb.
” an underwhelming 726,000 total viewers and 254,000 adults 18-49″ …so what does that leave for a demographic? Pre teen boys and old dirty men?
Seniors in rest homes who can’t get up to change the channel?
All she does is sulk and complain. Not very appealing.
I know that I certainly would prefer watching about 20 hours of kitteh-viz on you tube, to this.
Hey, let’s spice this up, a bit, and show her discussion with a rape-crisis counselor trying to explain to her why when she was drunk and passed-out, it was non-consensual, and the dad belongs in jail. That ought to be an entertaining episode.
Bristol pulls of both boring and obnoxious at the same time. It’s quite the feat, but I don’t want to watch it on TV.
Nancy Depuke strikes again. She wouldn’t know a good show if it reached up and bit her on the balls. Sure, you can throw enough crap at the wall that something will stick, but it will still stink.
What is this obsession with making someone a celebrity, just for living and breathing.
Bristol Pailin is just not that interesting, not to mention she had a kid out of wedlock, some true conservative values let me tell ya……not!
they said it bombed, mbut they didn’t say it was cancelled I’ll cheer when it’s gone. Too many time networks let really bad shows hang on hoping they’ll get better. I think this is as good as this half-witt is going to get.
Somehow the Palins will blame this on Obama.
