CAA keeps snapping up Innovative clients… Mireille Enos, Jim Parsons, and now Nina Dobrev… Hold on tight to Amanda Seyfried…
Actually Jim Parsons left UTA after a disastrous short stint.
Again, I was sad to see that Nina Dobrev and Abby Bluestone go separate ways. Abby Bluestone helped Amanda Seyfried to become a big star, and I had hoped that Abby Bluestone could do the similar magic with Nina Dobrev.
Nina Dobrev can still become a big star under the help of CAA and Brillstein; still, I wish that Nina Dobrev can remember what she learned from Abby Bluestone.
Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish as the Brits say. She and Tracy Brennan deserve each other.
Nina <3
It’s gotta totally suck being an Innovative, APA, Gersh or Paradigm agent. You bust your ass to break someone in and then when they pop they ditch you for a next level agency. Not sure what the answer is, but can’t be fun.
welcome to my life as a boutique talent agent…
Trust me, I along with most actors would prefer to start and stay with IFA, SDB or Greene and Associates. From my experience though, the boutiques don’t want to start with you. So why have unconditional professional allegiance with someone who didn’t start with you?
EVERYONE busts their ass. Dreams are big and many times it’s appropriate to make changes. Life itself is never static.
I’ve never heard a bad word uttered about Abby. However, let’s not kid ourselves about agents being devoted to actors. Representation are devoted to money makers not people. If agents cared about the human being they would be more open to meeting with unproven talent.
The fact is the people who really not only push for the people they work with but have pull (Abby; Dan Baron; Joanne Roberts Wiles; etc.) don’t take the opportunity to meet with someone without a pedigree. So starting out at Angel City or Wyckoff and Associates or even KSR requires an actor to make moves to work with the “A” team of their dreams. That’s no disrespect to those agencies and people listed. In fact I’d say they realize they aren’t playing the same game as the “A” team and are fine with that.
She’s talented. Hopefully they can keep her IMDB clear of horrible dreck like The American Mall.
IF it wasnt for The American Mall, no one would of signed a canadian without papers. That movie brought her to the attention of US agencies. Abby wasnt tracking Nina…. she met her in the meeting with agency.
Wait, you mean another client signed with Steve Warren and Gretchen Rush and then somehow ended up at CAA??? Who woulda thunk it?!
It was The Americsn Mall that got Nina to the ability to work here in the states. That production for her a working visa and brought her to the attention of agencies here. You think Abby seemed her out? WRONG!
