Caleb Landry Jones has been cast in the lead role in the John Boorman-directed Broken Dream. The project was set to move into production with River Phoenix nearly 20 years ago until River’s untimely death. Boorman has been searching for the right actor to play the role ever since. The story is described as a love story that takes place in a futuristic world. Boorman co-wrote the script with Neil Jordan. Boorman will also produce with Kieran Corrigan of Merlin Films in Ireland. John Hurt is attached to play Jones’ father. Casting for the female lead opposite Jones is underway.

I read this script wayyy back in the day and wow is this a blast from the past. It was amazing then and glad to see john will get to direct this after all these years. Wow. Congrats to this kid.
Just glad to hear people other than those twilight hack kids get cast as leads these days. Enuf is enuf already.
I love the idea of a seasoned director coming back for his finale with his passion project that’s been sitting on the shelf for 20 years and then taking an up-and-comer and pairing him with someone like John Hurt. All eyes on who lucks out for the female lead now. Felicity Jones please!
It’s good to see an alumnus of X-Men: First Class (he was Sean Cassidy/Banshee) moving up to a leading role.
What a masculine, scary looking dude; I definitely wouldn’t want to run into him in a dark alley!
Haha xD Caleb doesn’t even look as creepy as they want to make him look he’s adorable and “fluffy” he’s a great person and really sweet.
