Previous: CNN has made John King a correspondent without a show. The network is cancelling John King USA effective next month, according to Politico. “I wanted to inform you of a change we are making to bolster our political coverage heading into the critical stretch of the 2012 campaign. Beginning next month, John King will shift roles and become our lead national campaign correspondent,” said CNN’s VP Ken Jautz in a memo to staff. The memo went on to say, “These changes will help us provide groundbreaking reporting and more depth of coverage of the important issues facing our viewers.” King, who has been with CNN since 1997, is currently CNN’s chief national correspondent. CNN, who has had hit 20-year ratings lows recently, will lengthen Wolf Blitzer’s Situation Room to three hours daily. The show will now air from 4 to 7 PM weekdays. King is expected to contribute to the Situation Room as well as Anderson Cooper’s AC360.
