The commentator’s splitting from MSNBC on June 25 and says on his website that he has “been inspired by meeting countless ‘doers’ ” and decided “to collaborate and join with some of these leaders to experiment and explore new ways to tell their stories.” Is that really a smart move on the eve of a presidential election, Ratigan muses. In fact, he says, “the timing couldn’t be better.” He says that “the thrill of an opportunity to expand new systems that cost less and give us more in every part of life is impossible to pass up…. While I don’t know exactly how my own story will develop, I hope to share some initial details with you soon.” He added that he looks forward “to collaborating with all of you in learning, sharing, and building new ways to solve old problems in this expanding mission.” For now, MSNBC plans to move Martin Bashir’s show into Ratigan’s 4 PM ET time slot. The New York Times lauded Ratigan for being “a crusader of sorts, challenging cable news norms — and sometimes sticking out from the rest of MSNBC’s daily schedule.” The paper was told that he made an unusually high $1M a year.

He’s one of the few ruthlessly truthful commentators on television today. It’s time that the media stopped sugar-coating what’s going on with how bad this economy is. We’re with you all the way, Mr. Ratigan. Now go out there and MAKE CHANGE HAPPEN. We’ll be there at your side.
Hey Dylan,
Best of luck. Hope you find the best vehicles for your considerable talent and enthusiasm..
Tired of having to shill for Obama?
While I always liked his message about getting money out of politics I never felt he sent that message home enough on his show. The second half of his show everyday is a bunch of useless stories that now one every cares about.
But either way I wish him the best of luck in the future and maybe he can get an internet show going that is more towards his true message.
Ratigan always seems to disheveled of thought and seems to be way to harried and rushed in trying to put every little bit of thought into word. I think he has rocks in his head to forego $1,000,000 a year for a chip shot of a tv show. I hope he brings Andrew Lloyd Webber’s daughter with him when he goes. What in the world is she supposed to be doing? Why don’t they bring Arsenio Hall? He has as much gravitas.
I, too, wish him well, and, unlike those who bathe in their own ignorance in cricizing him, he is spot on with regard to extractionism…get ‘em Dylan, get ‘em…
Dylan, I wish you the best of luck. I can see a pattern here with MSNBC. The execs do not want somebody to tell the absolute truth because then it becomes dangerous. Telling the truth and actually trying to solve our problems is dangerous business when your sponsors are probably mostly conservatives. I, for one, am so fed up with corporations and rich people controlling what information we get. We need to stand up and be counted when it comes to the truth.
Alas, Dylan you have left MSNBC.
There have been three Dylan’s in my life (Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, and Dylan Ratigan); all truth speakers that have touched my soul.
I wish you best wishes and hope you find a venue to continue to speak out.
Thomas may have said it best:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Dylan, I miss your comments and views on Msmbc. I hope what you are doing now will continue to help to make are Country a better place. I am sure you will continue to help bring
Justified political views to a real view without out
Being sugar coated. Best to you in your future.
