Another fan favorite recurring character on ABC’s Once Upon A Time is being made regular for next season. Emilie de Ravin, who played Belle in three episodes of the series’ first season — including the finale — has been promoted to series regular for Season 2, our sister site TVLine reports. The Lost alumna, repped by Gersh and manager Darren Goldberg, became available after her ABC pilot Americana didn’t go to series. The deal with de Ravin follows a similar promotion to regular for Meghan Ory, who plays Ruby/Red Riding Hood on the show.

Good for her.
wow can this show get any better.
I thought it couldn’t but I see now that I was wrong.
Great, now can she just pick an accent and stick with it?
I keep seeing comments like this. Emilie spoke with her real accent as Belle because the producers WANTED her to.
She’s done an American accent in everything she’s done except for Lost and ONCE. If the producers wanted her to have an American accent, she would have done it that way.
I’m just glad everyone isn’t faking a vague British accent. I suspect deRavin is doing like everyone else, using her real accent on the very good assumption that nobody knows what accent the citizenry of fairy tale land are supposed to have, anyway.
Makes sense to me! Emilie stays at ABC now that Americana is canned AND ABC gets to keep their Belle character alive from Beauty & The Beast now that that series also didnt get picked up.
I’m happy about this news. I hope they have Sebastian Stan sign as series regular. I would be soooo happy.
