EXCLUSIVE: You know that the gazillion-selling steamy novel trilogy Fifty Shades Of Grey has reached outlandish proportions when The New York Post devotes today’s front cover to the idea that women are stocking up on ropes to be used for bondage purposes. All of this has apparently been spurred on by the kinky relationship between the couple in the book trilogy. Things are heating up on the movie front as well for Universal Pictures, which won a seven-figure auction to turn the three books into movies. I’ve heard rumors about the possibility of Angelilna Jolie having a conversation or two about directing it. This has been buzzing around for a couple of weeks. The studio says that no discussions have been had, but they note that if she was interested, that the studio would be also. They loved her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood And Honey. As for Jolie, I’m told she’s completely focused on her next film, Maleficent, at Disney and isn’t entertaining other offers at this moment.

Things should begin taking shape on Fifty Shades Of Grey shortly. Author E.L. James and her agent, Valerie Hoskins, will be coming in from the UK to Hollywood shortly. They will then set a producer first, followed by setting a writer and filmmaker.

The movie must be filled with crazy sexual tension. It better be good but not to the point that it’s all p0rn. They can make a hot sexy ala “Last Tango in Paris” movie out of this. Christian Bale or Chris Evans as Christian Grey though.
Someone stronger should direct this movie the movie should be as good as the books
selena gomez – ana
david beckham – christian
Let’s hope this one comes out with proper passion, not the namby pamby panty-waist schitt that puked on the screen in 9 1/2 weeks and the lame-azz scuz that was called the Story of O. If you are going to do — then do it right…quit frogging around with panzy-azz directors and actors….
Bradley Cooper as Christian
Am I the only one who liked these books??
I absolutely loved the series, but i dont think ANYONE would be able to cast the rite actors/actresses to play the roles, not to mention theres just too much info that would b cut out to make the movie/movies, it happens all the time. If anything i think they should make a showtime series so they get every last detail. I would hate to see this story be rushed just bcuz its “in”. Maybe she would be good directing that, but the thought of this is really maken me sad. I dont want my vision of Christain and Ana to be destroyed by some wana be’s
So 37 is now far too old?!? With a comment like that, no wonder you’re listed as “Anonymous”.
What about Jacqueline McInnes Wood from b and b? She has the slender body the gorgeous blue eyes and her long…hair..or even Emma Stone another great actress and beauty..
I would love to see Sawyer and Kate from Lost in the roles. They are a little older, but we can stretch our imaginations!
For some reason, I can only see Christian Grey as Christian Bale. Think of a combination of “American Psycho” and “Batman”.
I Can See Angelina Directing. I Think She’ll Do A Great Job If She Gets The Nod To Do So. As For The Two Main Characters I Can See Rooney Mara As Ana And, James Van Der Beek As Christian Grey. I Know That James Is More OF A Television Actor But, I Saw Him In A Lifetime Movie And, His Eyes Are Truly Wonderful And, He Had A Broad Range Of Different Emotions Showing In Them.
just finished the first book and started the 2nd book last night and i can’t stop picturing Ryan Gosling as Christian and Anne Hathaway as Ana. it just works….
I’m all for Ian Somerhalder as Christian. The right person for Ana is up in the air though.
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) for Ana. Her dark hair and big eyes are perfect.
I enjoyed reading the books. I thought they were good entertainment – but I can’t imagine what the movie will be like – it’s like an Eminem song on the radio, you only hear every other word.
but seriously, the best guy would be david paetkau from Flashpoint. I think he looks exactly like they describe him in the book.
I think Universal has a flop. There is a soap opera plot (think Carol Burnett doing her Nora Desmond schtick) if you want to call it a plot, and the hot scenes are violent. Reading about a woman hit is different than watching it. The book will not translate to screen. Angelina would be great as Mrs. Robinson, but would be aghast to play “the older woman” at this stage in her career. If filmed, it will never make it out of the can. Also, if not released within a year, it is yesterday’s news. Sorry Universal, JMHO.
A Jolie could be Mrs Robinson & yes none of the twighlight cast thank you
not angelina jolie please…not only was Land of Blood and Honey inaccurate and insulting of the Bosnian War, but now this?? i know it is rumoured…..just…dont touch it.
I actually did not read the books, but I will talk more about Angelina’s directing skills, and she really shined in In The Land Of Blood And Honey … She is a good director, and for sure Universal pictures should be interested in getting her to direct the movie.
first off this is about the bdsm lifestyle and the people that live it new or experienced sure its inspired by twlight but it is far from a twilight spin off. really you need a very strong male actor and someone to direct that just might have a clue about this lifestyle Jollie would be perfect however probably to busy. Other names i would throw out for directing or acting would be Brad Pitt or Nichols Cage. just my opinion thou…and no the films nor the book is not for everyone
How bout Emily Blunt for Ana? I think she also has an innocent face.
I just can’t imagine Alexis for erotic scenes…
