Los Angeles and New York, June 21, 2012 – ICM Partners announced today that it has hired Ayala Cohen, the veteran executive who oversaw the talent department at Saturday Night Live. Cohen will join the agency’s talent division in its New York office on July 9th to bolster ICM Partners’ ranks in comedy representation. In her 19 years at Saturday Night Live, Cohen’s career spanned the booking of hosts, casting of the late-night series and serving as a producer on many of the acclaimed specials, as well as NBC’s 75th Anniversary Special. Cohen began her career as a page at NBC in New York before being hired as an assistant at Saturday Night Live.

Congrats ICM. One of the nicest people I remember.
This is a great addition to ICM Partners. Ayala has a fantastic eye for talent. Congrats Ayala and ICM!!
What an out of the box idea from ICM. Ayala comes from comedy royalty–this is a really smart move. Can’t wait to see who she signs!
clearly you work at icm partners.
Ayala is the best! So nice, so smart, and so professional. Great move ICM!!
Great move by ICM Partners-Ayala is THE nicest person in the entertainment business and a consummate professional. Great taste and great person. Go Ayala and Go ICM.
There’s not a better-liked or more intelligent person in comedy today.
That’s awesome – love everyone in that office – very smart move.
cool move. will be interesting to see how she does as an agent. wishing her well, cuz she really is the best.
ICM P is coming on strong! CAA and WME watch out!
She has good relationships and is certainly an interesting hire. ICM certainly can’t bring over a Top Agent from WME or CAA. The problem is that very few Top Artists want to be a a third rate Agency. They are barely in the same business as WME and CAA. So I wish her luck in signing anyone with a name. Maybe she can discover some interesting Talent. It will take her years to build a list that will ultimately leave her. It’s tough out there, especially at ICM. Sorry but the truth hurts.
hmmm…it’s always so interesting to me that each deadline article directly related to agencies gets the MOST comments. some of the least interesting news, yet the most “talked” about. the question is, between whom?
As a long-time SNL toiler, I concur:
Great person; well deserved!
Ayala is such a wonderful human being and an amazing talent. What a great hire.
Or is the “truth” that you are sitting at home just writing stupid stuff like that or that you are at another one of those other agencies that didn’t think of it first.
Love her to pieces but this seems like another bone-headed move by ICM. She is a talent agent with NO CLIENTS. And her relationships are with representatives so I’m not sure how she’s going to get clients. I can’t imagine someone so sweet is suddenly going to turn into a shark and try to steal talent from the reps she’s known for years. Then again, stranger things have happened in Hollywood….
I have know Ayala for many years. She is intelligent, honest, responsible and reliable. She is the best friend anyone can have. ICM is lucky to have her and she will prove all doubters wrong.
