UPDATE: Sony Pictures TV says Alex Trebek is out of the hospital and back home after suffering a mild heart attack last week. In a statement, Sony thanks everyone for their good wishes on Alex’s behalf.
PREVIOUS: Longtime Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, 71, was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last week in Los Angeles as a result of a mild heart attack, Jeopardy producer Sony Pictures TV said. “Trebek is in good spirits and is undergoing further testing,” Sony said today. “He is expected to fully recover and be back on Jeopardy! when production begins taping in July for the new season, the show’s 29th.” Incidentally Jeopardy! just won a Daytime Emmy for Best Game/Audience Participation Show last night, the veteran game show’s 14th.

I hope he gets well very soon.
@robbie alex treb you my favorit get better soon, you are’ in our. prryer’s @@dot& robbie
No, you have to say it like this: “What is: Get well soon, Alex, we all love you!”
GASP! I hope he pulls through.
71?! Wow. He doesn’t look a day over 50.
I hope he pulls through too, Ella. But he looks a lot older than 50.
Not sure about 50s but he does look younger than 71.
Looks/sounds like he will be OK. Godspeed, Alex. A lot of people are employed by Jeopardy! I’m not trying to sound like a bad person by saying that, but what would happen to the show without the one and only Alex Trebek?
I don’t know. I wonder what Art Fleming is doing these days.
Mr. Fleming died 17 years ago, at the age of 70.
I’m glad to hear a full recovery is expected! Get well soon, Alex!!!
Best wishes to Alex and hoping he takes care of his health first before going back to taping Jeopardy.
Q. Hes had a few setbacks, but will come back strong by the start of the new season in July.
A. Who is Alex Trebek!
Get well soon, my Canuck nut!
Alex’s 911 call transcript.
Operator: “911, what’s your emergency?”
Alex: “This occurs when blood flow to your heart is blocked for a long enough time that part of the heart muscle is damaged. Your doctor calls this a myocardial infarction.”
Sadly this does bring up the obvious question: Who else would be a good host?
Hologram Bob Hope!
No. Groucho Marx. So it looks like you better get back to work Alex
Art Fleming unfortunately passed away back in 1995. I do send my prayers for Alex for a speedy recovery.
My hope is this experience will give him a new attitude towards the show. I am getting really tired of his sanctimonious tone when someone gives a wrong answer.
Wow if you can’t post something nice about a man who almost everyone thinks is a terrific person and who would be missed if he were no longer the host of Jeopardy, why even say anything? I love Alex Trebek and would be sad if he no longer were able to host my favorite game show. You are obviously alone in your feelings about this wonderful man.
Drew Carey.
Please. He can barely get through an episode of The Price Is Right.
He’s a great and handsome host! I think he should keep the mustache though. And I think he’ll be ok. I believe he’s been talking about retirement before this happened. Jeopardy will go on without him but I’m sure his legacy will be intact.
Ugh – clearly the other poster was joking about Art Fleming. The point was that there were hosts of Jeopardy before Trebek, and there will be hosts after. The art of subtlety is lost on the web – people need to be beaten on the head.
Yes, get well soon Alex;
The host of the best game show EVER. Who is Alex Trebec?
Get well sir, I need my Jeopardy fix… and I for one dig your occasional snarkiness.
So glad to hear that Alex is doing better!
This is all Sean Connery’s fault, perhaps he’ll finally apologize…
Good news. That’s a tough show to do and he makes it look easy. Remember Jeff Probst on MTV “Jeopardy?” You would see his cards and hear the squeak of a magic marker working hard to keep up!
