UPDATED: The View co-host Joy Behar will be launching a daily show on Current TV. The program, tentatively titled The Joy Behar Show, will premiere in September and air Monday through Thursday at 6 PM with rebroadcasts later in the evening in primetime. Featuring a regular rotating ensemble of journalists, analysts and political satirists, the program will focus on political events, social issues and pop culture topics.
Veteran comedian Behar will make her debut on the cable channel next week when she will take over for Eliot Spitzer while he is on vacation. She will not be guest hosting his Viewpoint but will be hosting her own show in the time period once occupied by Keith Olbermann. Titled Joy Behar: One Week Only *Until the Fall, the program will air Monday through Friday that week at 8 PM ET and offer a taste of Behar’s upcoming nightly show — featuring conversations with a mix of journalists, newsmakers and celebrities. Behar said her show on Current TV will be similar to her The Joy Behar Show, which she anchored on HLN for two years. “There will be a lot more politics because I’m interested in politics, and they had a different focus at HLN,” Behar said, adding that, in addition to being as political as she is, Current TV also shares her progressive views. She said that he is excited about working with Current TV chairman and former Vice President Al Gore “who didn’t lose the (2000 presidential) election; they just decided that he lost the election.”
Said Gore. “Joy Behar is a beloved veteran television personality with her finger on the pulse of what viewers care about.” Behar, managed by Westport Entertainment, also served as a guest host on CNN’s Larry King Live.

Good for Joy! Her HLN show was the only thing worth watching on that network. It’s hard to find engaging talk TV geared towards women and while it’s hard to find CurrentTV the network seems to be taking off as far as programming goes. great pick up for Current big loss for MSNBC
Behar’s show on HLN was under CNN, not MSNBC.
Yep, it worked so well for Olbermann. Next stop You Tube. Good ridence.
Joy Behar. Really? Current has no idea what it wants to be.
Thanks for the warning. I will start working on my cable company to get them to delete Current TV from their lineup! Seriously, why does this woman have a career? Her interviewing style is painful to watch and she stopped being funny 20 years ago. She still does Monica Lewinsky jokes! Ugh!
At one time her ratings were higher than Larry King, but thanks for you input…Fox is on now…
tired of the “clown nose on, clown nose off” of entertainers masquerading as pundits then when called on the carpet for serious mistakes in research or controversial/stupid things said, they hide behind “I’m just a comedian”
Joy offers little insight other than to read the front page of Media Matters and taking on whatever their opinion is and then cackles or interrupts anyone with a dissenting viewpoint. She makes the View uncomfortable to watch when they delve into “deep” waters
At first I was laughing at Current…now… it’s just sad. Poor, poor progressives!
Great For Her. HLN is just a huge buffet of crap shows. Joy Behar was the only show worth watching
the sled downhill picks up steam!
I am currently watching Joy’s show on Current TV. Please pass along this piece of wisdom to Ms. Behar: The best interviewer in the room is also the best listener and the person who interrupts the least. Unless people are hardcore Joy Behar fans, this show will never last because all Joy (and everyone watching) will be able to hear is the sound of her voice speaking over everyone on her show. Very Disappointing!
Good Luck Joy on your new show, unfortunately I won’t see it. My cable doesn’t carry it. Best to you!
Hi Joy Behar I love your show and i love your ideas. May God Bless you, family friends and neighbor.
