EXCLUSIVE: Lindsay Lohan is not the only person working on the Lifetime film Liz & Dick who is suffering from exhaustion. I’ve learned that two crew members in the hair department left the production yesterday with exhaustion. The network had no information whether two two sought treatment though according to a source, they went to the hospital with “severe dehydration and exhaustion.” Word is that the crew of the movie about Elizabeth Taylor’s romance with Richard Burton, has been working 20 or more hours a day.
Lohan, who plays Taylor in the movie, made headlines Friday morning when paramedics were called to her hotel room where she was found unconscious. According to her spokesman, she had been on set from 7 PM the night before until 8 AM and was treated at the hotel for “some exhaustion and dehydration.” Lohan did not go to the hospital and returned to work Friday night. “After working 85 hours in 4 days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up,” Lohan wrote on Twitter yesterday.
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

Stop production. This stupid project should not cause anyone a hangnail, let alone real medical problems.
You’re actually believing the studio’s smoke screen? The studio is trying to limit the bad publicity from Lohan passing out (again) by having two hair dressers claim that they’re “exhausted” also, and you buy it hook, line and sinker.
That was my first thought too.
Cover for the Lohan.
Mine as well, not a bad move though.
That makes NO sense. Why would Lifetime risk themselves having MORE bad publicity? If you look at any of the peoples Twitters who are working on their film, they’ve all been complaining about being tired even PRIOR to Lohan’s exhaustion, one person tweeted a picture of them sleeping on the set. I think some of you people are way too cynical.
They probably concluded that the advantages of the story outweighed the disadvantages.
If someone handed me five grand in a paper bag, I’d gladly “suffer from exhaustion” for a few days too.
They are being way to cynical. If this were some other actor/actress you wouldn’t hear this much negativity but being that it is Lohan here they come out of the woodwork with ‘cover ups’ and conspiracies. Other crew members are saying the same thing about twenty plus hour days but I guess the whole set is in Lohan’s pocket if you believe the cynics.
Repeat offender.
I agree. Also, hair stylists are almost always hired by the actor. They are friends of Lindsay and are trying to help prove that she is just being worked too hard. When I guarantee that isn’ the case. Shame on the producers for even thinking she could handle this. Fire her, scrap the show, and get an actress that deserves to play the role.
Beatrix Kiddo is absolutely correct. I have it on good authority that this is the case. Classic diversion by the studio, but it’s not fooling anyone.
I’m not in the business but isn’t there laws governing things like this? Especially SAG as well as some of the other unions? Curious.
shut down the production
Any production that hires Lohan has to be sketchy….anyone that signed up for it, should have been aware of this
Partying from 7pm til 8am has never bothered her.
All this tells me is that the production is so desperate to make Lohan’s lies believable they were willing to say 2 other people had the same issues as her, even if it meant they look like slave drivers.
I certainly don’t mean to detract from the hard work the hair department does, but if the production really is driving people to the point of exhaustion, don’t you think one of the groups with a greater physically demanding job would be the ones dropping?
I’m so sick and tried of this whole “exhaustion” excuse. A person in the real world can’t use that as an excuse to get out of work. Also, as far as dehydration goes, are there no bottles of water (or access to any type of liquids) on set? Seriously, these excuses need to be done away with.
Exactly. And what about the doctors, nurses, military personnel, and various others — I don’t often hear THEM collapsing with that excuse. But Lindsay is Lindsay. No, Lindsay is entitled. Wait..no, Lindsay is a DISASTER.
Crew people…Please don’t work these kind of hours…just walk away.
Is this a union production? There are supposed to union rules in place to prevent things like this from happening.
What idiot needs a union to tell them to make sure they drink 64 ounces of water a day? Where the hell are they filming this movie that they have no access to water? Ethiopia?
What Lissa meant was that a union would prevent a production from making people work such long hours that they need medical care. No one thinks the union should tell people to drink when they’re thirsty.
Don’t shut it down, just do it according to union/guild guidelines and this won’t happen.
C’mon people. Exhaustion? Lohan is a disaster and drags everybody and everything around her down to her level. Do we really believe that everybody is working too hard or do we think that Lohan is still partying too hard and her glam team are joining in on the action?
It’s like that old joke they made about old B-Movies, they don’t want it good, they want it Tuesday.
“Why, this hair spray is just about giving me the vapors! I must take three days off or I’ll hallucinate that I’m working for a professional movie production!”
Maybe they’re covering for her?
This is just a publicity play to cover up her bad behavior and not jeapordize her next projects with whomever is desperate enought to trade short term Publicity for long term, terminal production nightmares.
Such bullshit… this production should be shut down for doing hours like this and hiring Lindsay…
… where is the IA when you need them.?!?!?!
Screams “bullshit” to me.
Sounds like someone on the hair team found Lindsay’s extra bag of baking soda.
Is this project being funded by some sultan or oil family or mafia? It just sounds trashy and awful.
Another reason I love Deadline.com is for the comments. Call them out on their BS. HA.
hairdressers only collapse into their chairs with iced coffees and ipads
This is impossible it’s a stupid poorly thought out lie on the part of Lifetime and Larry Thompson. The hair stylists get to rest and take naps all the time they are not on their feet for 18 hours straight.
If they were really working these insane hours the union chiefs would be up in arms and all the below the line workers would be picketing the production instead of working such insane hours. SAG would also be investigating.
There is no way she could have worked 85 hours in four days. It violates every SAG rule especially the 12 hour turnaround time if they banged on her door to wake her up after just two hours to go back to the set they are in violation of the turnaround time and SAG would have already called for them to be shut down and fined.
Have you not heard of penalties? If you think working on a set for 85 hours is impossible, you have never worked on a set.
Actors don’t get forced calls. The rest of the crew may, but not the leads, especially not the temperamental ones. I’ve definitely done a 32hr day, but I’ve never seen actors not get 12(11 with exception) turn around. Then again I’ve never done a Lifetime show… I can only imagine the level of pride that goes around those sets.
A friend of mine said they were working almost 24 hour days (golden time?) when shooting the first two “Pirates of the Carribean” due to all the hair, makeup, wardrobe, and costumes let alone having to film intricate ship shots. He never mentioned what his turnaround time was after wrapping. He was just happy he was able to buy a new condo with all his money. However, I can’t imagine Lindsay and this crew are working like they did on Pirates. However, if Lindsay is, let’s say, “high maintenance, and there are only two hair people hired for the entire cast, perhaps she or the production staff could be driving them to the point of exhaustion. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Yet, this could also be a BS smoke and screen situation too to save the rep of the film. I’m just sayin’….
Why would a production feel the need to cover up for Lindsay? They wouldn’t. They would be much more worried letting it get out that they’re working 20 hour days and causing the crew to get sick. I like a good cover up scandal as much as anyone, but this is real. They should shut down the production.
Does OSHA read Deadline?
Sounds bogus to me. They saw the reaction to her exaggerated excuses on the internet and now they’re trying to cover her ass and do a PR story, “see she’s not the only one” and from the hair department no less. They’re not working in a steel mill, I’m sure the slave drivers on the set will give them a break if they feel faint. That’s just a laughable, this hokey movie is a joke. I’ve never heard so much drama from other made for TV movies.
Well it’s probably a little of both, Lindsay being Lindsay and the absurd budgets squeezing the life out of crews nowadays. Surly a lifetime TV movie is missing a few bells and whistles, like caring about the crew & talent’s safety. Not too mention, Lindsay is in the proving ground and she’s probably not a big money player right now.
