Looper stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis in the sci-fi pic about a contract killer (Gordon-Levitt) who works for the mob of the future, killing victims 30 years in the past so there’s no trace of the crime. Then comes a target (Willis) that happens to be his future self. Rian Johnson wrote and directed. CAA sold rights to the film in 2011 at Cannes to FilmDistrict; Sony is releasing it through its TriStar label September 28. The interesting part is it replicates the distribution structure of District 9, which FilmDistrict boss Peter Schlessel acquired while he was at Sony and which became a hit. Looper has a similarly brainy construct and is also reminiscent of the first Terminator.

Saaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh-weet!
Well said. This looks awesome. Fresh and risky.
So far, so good.
Looks awesome, and looks are everything with a movie like this.
in.
Fantastic start to the script. Terrible third act — boring, plus a deus ex machina (practically literally).
Great concept! I’m in.
Great teaser, save the lo-fi motion titles. Cool concept. JUMPER meets WANTED yet superior. Sold.
Except “Wanted” and “Jumper” sucked.
This looks quite good.
looks fresh. Rian is a talented fella. can’t wait.
Why does Joseph Gordon-Levitt look like he had plastic surgery?
did jgl’s get a nose job? otherwise why is his face different for this movie?
Uhhhh cuz maybe the fact that he’s playing the younger version of Bruce Willis necessitated a little help from makeup so his face would look different? Did you miss the entire concept at play here?
makeup to look like a younger Bruce Willis
Because JGL is meant to look more like Bruce Willis. Hence the different speech patterns.
trimmed eyebrows and color contact lenses make the difference, not sure if its a good one though
“Brick” was great and this looks greater! So awesome to see a director like Rian just go from strength to strength! Congratulations can’t wait to see this!!!
The kicker is that he has to kill himself or get fired.
Looks like there is no jobless pay in any way.
Sounds interesting.
C’mon, Bruce Willis? Again?! How ’bout Eric Bana? He at least looks like an older JGL. Or Russell Crowe, who could be a paunchy, middle-aged but still badass JGL? Willis is such an obvious choice. The only excuse could be they told Rian Johnson no $$$ for your movie, kid, unless you put Willis in. Cuz otherwise it’s an obviously uncreative choice.
