There’s a lot less story development and a lot more butt in this TV spot for the U.K. market for Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike. Lionsgate has the movie over there, Warner Bros has it Stateside where it opens June 29. The film based partly on Channing Tatum’s previous experience as a male stripper co-stars Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn and Olivia Munn.

What was the point of releasing a trailer with nudity? They should make people wait til they see it in the theater, like the shark from Jaws.

The money shots are just going to leak online in less than a day.
The comments on one of the big fansites would indicate otherwise: lots of people saying they are more likely to see this now. Those shots in the trailers are ‘blink and you miss them’ fast, and people want to see more.
This is an international TV spot, not a red band trailer. that’s why the voice over so cheesy lol. looks fun.

I agree. The buzz for this is off the charts, and the even the critics who’ve seen it so far say it’s great.
I’m still reeling in shock as to the direction they have taken this idea.
When I first heard about it being based on Tatum’s real life experiences, I thought they would be heading for a dark drama, which would reveal a disturbing underbelly about a male occupation which is rarely ever seen in films. Would have been really interesting material.
But this version, what they came up with…well. It’s just a bummer, and feels like an opportunity lost.
Well, I hope his ass is a better actor than the rest of him.

Well guys I hate to tell you that this movie will be a huge hit due to the fact all the girls in the world will see it and every woman will drag the men to see it. I helped produce it and the numbers look fantastic. It’s not boring it’s made with resspect. It’s not trashy but tell as story. Don’t knock it until you see it. Then we welcome your comments…..peace!
I absolutely AGREE! Don’t knock the film until you see it ALL! I am SO looking forward to this film! I usually wait until flicks hit the stands before seeing them (so I can have closed captioning). But THIS film is SO enticing, I think I will have to brave the crowds at the cinema. Way to be BOLD!
Looks like this blog is full of jealous insecure guys like all the rest of them. Why cant women get one friggin film that objectifies men? huh? Women have played these roles since the beginning of film and now we get one little film where men are beefcake hunks of meat and all of the sudden it’s garbage. Opportunity lost? Speak for yourself! The movie I see in the trailers does not fascinate me. It doesn’t seem wildly funny or interesting and the casting of some of the female talent is dispiriting to say the least.
