EXCLUSIVE: Australian actress Margot Robbie (Pan Am) is in talks to play the female lead in The Wolf Of Wall Street, the Martin Scorsese-directed drama that stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill. Robbie is in talks to play Nadine, the wife of Jordan Belfort, the title character being played by DiCaprio.
Poducers are Riza Aziz and Joey McFarland (Red Granite Pictures), DiCaprio (Appian Way), Scorsese and Emma Koskoff (Sikelia Productions) and Alexandra Milchan (EMJAG Productions). Red Granite Pictures owns the rights to Belfort’s best-selling memoir and is financing the film. Irwin Winkler and Georgia Kacandes are executive producers. Terence Winter adapted a memoir that chronicles Belfort’s dramatic rise and fall on Wall Street, along with his hard-partying lifestyle and tumultuous personal life that included drug and alcohol addiction. Production on the film is slated to begin in August in New York. Robbie is repped by CAA and Management 360.

Please Marty, I beg you — find another actor to cast in all your films.
DiCaprio doesn’t give bad performances, but he certainly doesn’t give great ones either. Stop looking at him and seeing another DeNiro, because it ain’t the case.
I would agree that De Niro is/was the more transcendent performer. But one could argue that DiCaprio has a box-office appeal that De Niro never had. That helps ambitious, expensive projects like THE AVIATOR get off the ground. DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are not necessarily the greatest actors in the universe, but they’ve admirably used their clout to squeak out the occasionally brilliant studio film with a world-class director.
but dicaprio is a great actor – it’s just that he takes parts that are probably not right for him, but he goes for it anyway.
I liked her in Pan Am. So far the only casting I’ve like so far. So over Leo.
Cristin Miloti (Tony-nominated actress for “Once”) is also in talks for this role.
She’s probably in talks for the OTHER wife role, the first wife. Nadine is the second wife.
Cristin Milioti is great. She deserves it.
Cristin would be playing his first wife, Margot his second wife.
oh thank GOD…cause I was worried there weren’t enough Australian chicks who look identical to each other in Hollywood. Were Isabel Lucas, Teresa Palmer, Rachael Taylor and Jessica Marais all busy?
You sound bitter. The Aussies are obviously doing something right.
Perhaps Palmer & Taylor look alike, the other don’t.
ITA. I can’t tell any of them apart.
Unbelievable for Margot Robbie to go from Neighbors to a Scorsese film in a couple of years, reading the novel though, pictured more a Blake Lively or Amber Heard type for the role. I think most people expected a bigger name, if casting’s gone for her it says their cutting back the role of Nadine from the storyline?
Both Amber Heard and Teresa Palmer screentested for the part. They ended up liking Margot Robbie more than them. And I am glad that they didn’t choose Heard, she really can’t act.
It’s interesting they went with a TV actress, when I read the script I kept picturing Peyton List who plays Jane on Mad Men.
Such a great casting decision. Lively and amber heard are tired choices. They would have popped much more if they had real staying power. Margot is star. Kudos to Jaime Feld and the folks at CAA for sussing her out and helping her win this role.
Agreed! Margot is a very good friend of mine and more than deserving for this role.
Watch out for her, big big things coming her way after this
