British media are reporting that Nicole Scherzinger, who earlier this year was booted from the U.S. version of Simon Cowell’s X Factor along with Paula Abdul and Steve Jones, has joined the UK incarnation of the competition series as a judge replacing former Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland. A report surfaced in the Daily Mail and other outlets quickly followed. Scherzinger was replaced by Britney Spears on the U.S. X Factor. Scherzinger initially was offered £500K ($777K) to join the show, the Mirror reported, but negotiated a higher fee and will receive £750K ($1.17M). She is expected to join fellow judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos for Monday’s auditions in Newcastle, the Sun reported. An announcement is expected shortly.

i think it’s great, love nicole, i saw bits of her on the uk show and she was great, for some reason she didn’t work too well on the us show but I hope she does good

What are they thinking?!? She was unimaginably HORRIBLE on the US version that they fired her. She lacks the artistry and general ability to do the job and she’s grating to watch and listen to. She put through TERRIBLE ‘talent’ and damaged the shows reputation here in the states.

There is no way Nicole was replaced by Britney. If anything Demi replaced Nicole, while Britney replaced Paula as Britney and Paula are the bigger female names compared to Demi or Nicole. I guess that’s what you write for higher numbers.
I don’t it was a matter of “replacing” her as it was “firing” her. It doesn’t matter if it was Britney, Demi or any other person possible because they just wanted her gone. Why they think she’ll do better on the UK version is a mystery since I hope the Cheryl fans will be less than welcoming. Nicole needs to judge her own ability to be a successful pop singer and stop judging others. The woman couldn’t make a hit holding a hammer.
