• What do you do when your network is floundering in the ratings game? Book a Kardashian! They’re good for at least a million eyeballs that belong to people who have nothing better to do with their lives than watch the parade of skanks on TV.

• Someone on here suggested that she move her channel to basic cable because that is where her audience is. I think that is great advice because obviously what she is currently doing is not working. What’s the point of an Oprah network if she is going to have the Kardashians on? What do the Kardashians have to do with the “Oprah Brand”?

• Poor woman doesn’t even realize the Kardshians are “so twenty minutes ago”.

  It’s different for something like “Drop Dead Diva”; that was done earlier in the spring, but for her to make a decision to have them on now really boggles the mind.

• Now, wait a minute. Oprah had Jessica & Nick on The Oprah Winfrey Show when they were doing reality TV, as well as Nicole Richie & Paris Hilton when they were doing The Simple Life, so this isn’t THAT different.

• Wow, hate much? I’ll admit that when the Dash clan first hit the scene I thought they were a joke. Honestly though what have they done that’s so horrible? You have a family with world class athletes, college educated children, ambitious and hardworking siblings…..they’re not junkies or criminals so lighten up. Oprah interviews celebrities so how is this the bottom of the barrel?

• As a refresher, the original mission of OWN as stated in Discovery’s and OWN’s press release was to target “women, men and their families with a purpose and a passion to celebrate life, to inspire and entertain, empowering viewers around the world to live their best lives.” Do the Kardashians fit that definition or is this sounding a bit like Oxygen?

  It also appears that Discovery continues to take control over programming for OWN as it it’s running Discovery ID product like…

  –I Almost Got Away With It
  –Unusual Suspects”
  –True Crimes
  –The Will
