Former Trading Spaces host Paige Davis is set to co-host alongside Mark Steines the new Hallmark Channel weekday lifestyle series Home & Family, which premieres October 1. Home & Family, which has an order for 220 original two-hour shows over 44 weeks, will focus on home improvements, crafts, parenting tips, and lifestyle, health and fitness enhancements. It joins another new daytime series that will premiere on Hallmark Channel in Q4, a talk show hosted by Marie Osmond.

Just turned this show on and was thrilled to see Christina f. Hosting the show. Wow this was my favorite show back in the 90′s. Thrilled to see it on again.

Yes, it’s true. It’s a remake of the old Family Channel (now ABC Family) show that ran from 1996-98. The hosts were Cristina Ferrare and Chuck “2 and 2″ Woolery (who was replaced by Michael Burger after the first year).

I am missing Mad Hungry as well. I love how she cooks with “real” ingredients that are actually obtainable. I agree the cooking show ever. I love to cook, but don’t bother with chefs that make off the wall meals that I couldn’t imagine serving. Lucinda makes good, nutritious meals that are as affordable as they are good the pallet.
I will not watch any of the new shows if they don’t have new episodes of Mad Hungry. It’s the best cooking show on the air.

I think it is great that Hallmark are bringing back the premise that HGTV used to work on, before it got caught up on the rich people. It used to be fun to watch all the shows on HGTV for us poor folks; and learn things, and know the people on the shows, as friends.
It’s about time this genre came back again.

Well, hang on to your hat. The show is so banal, mundane and annoyingly BORING you will be be looking for an alternative soon. I couldn’t take more than 4 minutes of the silly, overly perky cheesy smiling Paige Davis. Stupid premise, stupid content, just baaaad. Sorry, Paige, but you were better on Trading Places. Knock off the cutesy act, will ya already?
I LOVED Home and Family with Christina and Chuck. It was such a good show with usually great topics. Really looking forward to this new format….it has to be better than Martha Stewart!!

I was so excited when I saw they were bringing back one of my favorite shows and it looked like they were even using the same house! Boy was I dissappointed! I could only watch about 5 minutes before I had to shut it off. What a terrible show! Bring back Christina and crew if you want people to watch Home and Family! If Martha Stewart comes back, it needs to be with the premise of her original show – cooking, sewing, housekeeping, and with that catchy/folksy theme music she had! She is not a good talkshow host but was great as a lifestyle icon. I don’t understand why just everyone thinks they can host a talk show????
I agree. The show seem to be nothing about home and family. It looks like just another talk show.
I tried to watch this today, but I can’t! The host NEVER stop talking( all at the same time.) It is very irritating when you are trying to enjoy a show and the Host of the show ruin it for you.
The host would ask a question and they won’t let the guest answere and explain. Page was very loud, and so was Mark. This is my last time.
Watched first show…all I can say is wow (not in a good way). Very amateurishly produced and performed…belongs on cable access station, not on Hallmark…David Arquette is a moron and Paige Davis is a hyper, hot mess…I suspect this show will not last…
I actually DVR’d this show and was hoping for something new to watch since they cancelled Martha Stewart. After just ten minutes, I couldn’t watch it anymore. I remember the old Christina Ferrare show years ago. It actually looks like they are using the same house. This was such a disappointment. I think my local morning show is produced much better than this. It was so silly. Hallmark needs to bring back Martha Stewart!
I agree! I couldn’t have said it better! I used to like Paige and could tolerate her “giddy”ness, a word David Arquette used today. That guy’s truly certifiable, no surprise there! But, the fact that he hung around the set during the entire show was a bit odd…does he not have a job to go to? Guess not. He kind of grew on me after a bit and thought he fit right in with the overall quirkiness and glitches throughout the show. But, I digress, back to Paige. She is over the top with her enthusiasm and would help the show if she’d tone it down a bit and keep her mitts off of Mark! If I was his wife, I’d want her replaced ASAP!

I had such high hopes for this show but those were quickly dashed! This is nothing like the old Home and Family — this new verison is boring and annoying. The set is bland and dull, the segments are super boring and the hosts couldn’t be more irritating. Who comes up with some of these topics ?? Laugh Yoga ?? Really ??
Try some new hosts that aren’t always talking over each other — some segments of interests with crafts, decorating, cooking, etc. And please do something to that drab set. This show won’t last another month the way it’s currently going.
I know, I hear you. Yesterday they were outside getting, of all things, a volleyball lesson. Imagine, lessons on how to serve a volleyball. Paige Davis was jumping and hopping around, NON STOP, like a fool. It was sad, but my husband and I were laughing and adding quips of our own. Next thing you know, Paige Davis gets up on the guy’s (Mark?) shoulder, just to hit the ball over the net one time. It was laughably pathetic. I am sooooo surprised at Hallmark. I know they thrive on cheesiness and soupiness (if there are such words) but this one takes the cake. MISS it.
I watched the show on October 3rd. During the exercise segment with Mark and guest Samantha Harris, while speaking to Mark, Paige referred to herself as “cheap, fun and easy”. This is totally inappropriate. Paige is too loud, too animated, and too touchy-feely. She is not the proper fit for this show…
Just caught the last 15 minutes. Very amateur and loud. The hosts talk over each other and their guest-cant hear anything anyone says. Very chaotic. They are trying too hard to look cute. Guests looked very uncomfortable in closing shot . I’d love for this show to work but I doubt it unless it changes.
The Taco vendor/ street part…put a gag in Paiges LOUD mouth…I have always loved her but goodgolly…when did she get so LOUD?!!…taco part too long…its over now & Im turning the channel…sorry…hope you’ll get better!with more interesting pieces.
I have not enjoyed the show so far. They run their mouths too much about nothing. I think they are trying too hard to be casual and cute..Not working!! I find Page very irritating. If I were her “tv husband” I would get another day job. Just calm down. I may try again in a few days.
I, too, loved loved Home and Family with Cristina Ferrare and Michael Burger. It was hilarious and informative at the same time. I never missed an episode and was extremely sad when it went off the air. Unfortunately, this show is no substitute. I turned the show off after 10 minutes. Boring! Also I’m amazed at how unprofessional the camera crew is-missed shots, missed cues, poor transitions. Bring back Cristina and Michael!!!! It would be a real hit!!
Not something I would watch.
I watched the show today. I DVRd it and watched it a second time to see if my first impression was off kilter. But I have to say…after watching it for a second time, I agree with all the previous posts about Paige being irritating, loud and not a good fit for this show. Also, the wonderful breakfast sandwich segment was chaotic because of the hosts continual talking, showing the automated toaster (who cares)and it totally took away from the guest trying to demonstrate her cooking. And, Paige insulted the guest by basically announcing that the recipe was too “intentional”. You need to replace Paige – right away (with someone calm, respectful and lower key) or I’m afraid your show is doomed.
Pretty hard to watch. Like Mark, but he should have kept his night job. Cant watch the girl. Seemed like low budget filming or something too.
I miss Christina and Michael! If Woody is producing this show, he should bring them back! Paige is too annoying!!
I accidentally overheard some of the show, while searching for the remote. To my agony, I heard the piercing voice of Paige Davis fighting to be the center of attention over everyone else! In a matter of 30 seconds, I was annoyed beyond explanation and vote for this “hot mess” of a show to be CANCELLED immediately!! I believe it’s hazardous to your health!!
I’m watching this show here in CO. Very boring! Marley Matlyn is on and as much as I admire her as an actress, I can no longer watch this progam. It seems like your listening in on people at a restaurant at the table next to you having a conversation. I was hoping there would be more DIY segments. Oh well, not the show for me!
