UPDATE SATURDAY AM: Lindsay Lohan took to Twitter to address her medical emergency. “Note to self.. After working 85 hours in 4 days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door… Hopefully they’re cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down,” she tweeted on Saturday morning. “Back on set.”
PREVIOUS: A week after Lindsay Lohan was involved in a serious car crash, delaying production on the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick, in which she plays Elizabeth Taylor, the actress had a health scare this morning when paramedics were called to her hotel room where she was found unconscious. She was not taken to a hospital and hope is that she would be back on the set when production is scheduled to resume tonight.
“Lindsay worked a grueling schedule the past few days,” Lohan’s rep said. “She was on set last night at 7 PM and worked through the night until 8 AM this morning. She took a nap before shooting her final scene. Producers were concerned when she did not come out of her room and called paramedics as a precaution. Lindsay was examined and is fine, but did suffer some exhaustion and dehydration. Lindsay was never taken to a hospital; reports to the contrary are false. She is resting now and is hoping to be back on set later this afternoon.”

With all the great talent out there, why do these producers continually choose to deal with total train wrecks like Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen? When production is disrupted, they deserve to lose money for making such utterly stupid casting choices.
so charlie sheen who did 8 seasons of men and made possibly a billion dollars for warner brothers… needs to be punished? lol
No it’s not punishment He needed to be fired because he wouldn’t work and was disruptive. Then he became unbearable and confrontational with his bosses. So money isn’t it. Behavior and drugs were. Good riddance till he goes into recovery (again).
He WOULD work. When it was time to be on set he showed up on time and did his job. There was no good reason for him to be fired, hence the millions of dollars that he won in the lawsuit and the eagerness for another studio to immediately sign him up for another show.
A healthy young woman her age was so exhausted that she couldn’t wake up from a nap without an ambulance being called? I think the Lifetime exec who approved hiring her for this movie is ready to jump out a window right about now.
You’re an movie star, right?
Movies tend to have 14-16 hour work days. With equipment rented by the day, the fewer days in production the cheaper the costs.
While yes, she is young, it doesn’t seem that she hasn’t been working much lately, and possibly she isn’t accustomed to that schedule. Even Major League Baseball players, who are younger than she is, have spring training to get into shape after not having played a game for six months.
Now there’s a scarecrow argument if I ever heard one. Athletes have pre-season training to get on top of athletic form and in order to avoid injury, not to avoid passing out after the 7th inning. I have never known anyone personally that needed treating for “exhaustion” no matter how long they worked at much tougher jobs than acting.
By all means, please keep making excuses and enabling her. Then when she doesn’t wake up from one of these “naps” you can cry about how no one saw it coming.
That was exactly my reaction my husband and I both having work in the in this business for 25 years and all those incredibly stupid hours managed never to call 911 and my husband worked til he was 72 as a driver. Something is off. Some thought the producers were drumming up publicity to watch a train wreck because that’s all they got as in SNL. Any publicity is good ….. she was a self conscious and uncomfortable on SNL and what makes anyone think this will change after a few months? I’m not impressed she looks like Liz Taylor after make up and all, Michele Williams looked nothing like Marilyn Monroe but her acting skill had you believing she was. Same with Anthony Hopkins and Nixon. Acting skill got them through. I’ve seen nothing that tells me “shes back”.
dclaire, I didn’t buy Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. She didn’t pull-off the sex appeal, the charisma, nor the star power of that legend.
Charlie Sheen is a drug and sex addict. Even now he is not clean. No matter how “talented” you might have been you are a drug addict.
Great post HenryO. So true. I’m an agent and there are tons of responsible, hard working actors out there that would out act Lindsay Lohan any day.
You people think Lohan was chosen because she was the “best actress” for the part? You clearly don’t know anything about capitalism or entertainment, do you? Lohan was chosen because she would bring in the most viewers. Period. The producers measured the risk of her completely melting down against the odds that she’d make it through production, and decided to risk it knowing that many more people would tune in to watch Lohan than another affordable actress with no tabloid history. Let me make this clear, in case y’all missed it, her antics have made her a worthwhile property for this part. If she were a good little girl, she’d either be unknown or, more likely, still making better movies and be unaffordable for the producers here.
Didn’t Susan Summers play Susan Summers in a Lifetime movie? I say ditch the Elizabeth angle altogether. Just start making the Lindsay Lohan story played by Lindsay Lohan. What a nightmare!
Lindsay needs to fire her reps RIGHT NOW b/c they’re not controlling this situation.
Dear Lindsay’s Reps,
Lifetime and its producers are most likely leaking out any and all information to squeeze every bit of possible tabloid press it possibly can for the sake of potential ratings. If you thought it was hard getting opportunities before… man do you have some uphill battles after this project wraps. Instead of focusing on anything of value I’m sure production is busy plotting its next little public drama.
STOP THE INSANITY like you were Susan Powter and smash all this in the bud! Do your jobs!
You can’t compare Charlie Sheen and Lynsey Lohan, except for the fact they are both celebrities. Charlie was 45 and had children when he had his mid-life crisis… Lynsey on the other hand has no responsibilities, is barely an adult, and has developed from a child into an addict with many substance abuses built in.
Oh, and the reason why everyone works with Charlie and Lynsey is because they are children of Hollywood who happen to be celebrities. This has NOTHING to do with making a good film– otherwise why make a film about Liz Taylor? It is all about marketing repackaged goods to a society of drones. Case in point, the film is not even finished yet and it’s already being marketed with the celebrity factor. And when it does air, everyone will tune in to watch the celebrity. I doubt anyone tuning in has the intention of being entertained by the movie. This was a staged train wreck, as is most Hollywood product is.
And believe it or not, I am being positive. It sounds bad, but it’s just the way it is. The only way to change this bizarro world we live in is to just stop buying what they’re selling.
There’s some great talent and work being done out there, but none of it is made in Hollywood.
AGREE 100% On a good day it was an idiotic choice to portray Elizabeth Taylor, add in the nightmare that is Lindsay Lohan and you have this crap. The whole society has gone to H …..
Good Lord. Really? This ish is a hot ass mess. There were so many other qualified actors who would have knocked this performance out of the park. Oy.
and you’ve seen the dailies? what does this have to do with her performance? are you one of the producers? what’s wrong with her performance? facts please.
Performance means nothing if you can finish the shoot because your lead is teetering on the brink 24/7. “Called Paramedics as a precaution” ???? I don’t know about you but when one of my co-workers oversleeps, my thought isn’t to have the paramedics come in. That should tell you how high the potential is that this film won’t even get finished.
At this point it’s not even about her performance. It’s about her holding up production yet again and not being a professional. What she does affects EVERYONE involved on this set. She is a joke.
The point made was in regard to the large number of talented and reliable actors who were not hired for the part, not in regard to Lohan’s performance.
Please, Hollywood. Stop hiring this train wreck times twelve. I don’t care what you think, it’s just not worth it.
how does she hurt you? did she run you over?
Dear Ms. Lohan’s assistant – we understand your concern and defending of Lindsay because your income depends on her, but it’s time to wake up and smell the smoke; your boss is on fire, and not in a good way.
Lindsay is represented by ICM and managed by Untitled. Why would these legitimate companies let work so soon after she has had so many problems. It is not right.
Because they are in the business of making money on her while she is still worth something. Plus if she turns it around and knocks it out of the park they get to not only cash in, but they get claim they were standing by her the whole way.
I cannot imagine the H.R. Mgr. of any business who would hire such a fragile person to hold an important position in that firm. I also cannot see myself paying money to watch what many could argue is the screen’s greatest beauty as played by Lohan or any actress.
Lindsay Lohan is no Sherilyn Fenn. At least Sherilyn fenn was believable as Liz Taylor.
Exactly. Even Sherilyn Fenn at whatever age she is today would be better in this part than Lindsay.
GET IT TOGETHER, LILO
I’m sorry , everyone I know works long hours , late night shoots etc, none of them have had to call the paramedics ! Why is this not a red flag ? Wake up !
How many grips and electritricians and other crew members who actually work for a living had to have paramedics called for them after working from 7p – 8a? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Amen, Brother.
Hi Publicists of Hollywood,
Here’s a tip for you from someone who reads your explanations in the press: When you say someone had “exhaustion” we always assume that means “on drugs.”
I’m not sure what happened today with Miss Lohan, but you might want to think about this the next time you’re trying to spin a story about someone found passed out somewhere.
With the night shoots on this project I would believe it if you had said something like, “She pulled an all nighter on set and was having trouble getting to sleep during the day so she took and ambien and slept through her alarm.” Sure that may get interpreted as “she has a problem with sleeping pills” but honestly we’re all assuming it’s something worse when you say “exhaustion.”
I love you still, Lindsay. Ignore these dumbass haters. You are gorgeous!
I’m not a hater , but what does her looks have to do with her acting ability or lack of it. Thats what people are talking about
Cripes, the fact that an actor is “on set” for thirteen hours shouldn’t qualify them for exhaustion considering nine of those hours are spent in a sweet trailer.
Now, the security kid on the movie shooting outside my building? He was helping clear for Base Camp at 5AM, remained outside for the entire 105-degree day, then helped wrap up at 7PM. THAT poor little bugger knows exhaustion.
Just. More. Drama., from the nauseatingly dramatic Lohan camp…
13 hours is a short day by industry standards. That is hardly a grueling work schedule. Anyone in production on either side of the camera knows that.
To proclaim a 13 hour work day (which included a nap) “grueling” is comical.
lindsay who? won’t watch – no interest
Another Lindsey Freaky Friday.
So, basically, as any grip, camera assistant or teamster could tell you she was exhausted after working a standard work day. (12 hours + 1 hour for lunch = 13 hours).
In the immortal words of Norm MacDonald… “Ridiculous. Just Ridiculous”
Excuse me, but are there any actors that aren’t train wrecks, divas, drama queens, narcissistic, selfish, etc…?
Pam Grier.
“She was on set last night at 7 PM and worked through the night until 8 AM this morning.”
That’s a 13 hour day on a TV movie. Tell that to leads in episodic, who work 17 hour days, 6 day weeks, for MONTHS.
You don’t think that all is publicity is going to help them? I had ZERO interest in this flick, now I’m mildly curious.
Give her a break. If this or the car accident or other issues prove to be chemical related so be it. If not, cut her some slack.
Robert Downey Jr. and it appears Charlie Sheen have made strong comebacks by cleaning up…and, Lindsay has lots of stuff to get in order. She is only 25, and I believe she does have talent to be developed.
And this is coming from a blogger who relishes dumping on people when they behave badly like Charlie, Mel, etc.
“Give her a break. If this or the car accident or other issues prove to be chemical related so be it. If not, cut her some slack.”
Exactly. In both incidents, Lohan hasn’t been under the influence.
The math does not add up. If she wrapped at 8am, why was a production person trying to wake her at 10am as reported? She would be in her SAG mandated 12 hour “turnaround” period and production wouldn’t be talking to her. There are many reasons why the explanations are not making sense, this is one very big one.
Exactly. I’m glad you pointed this out. She was unconscious from sleeping pills that she needed to get to sleep because of the uppers she was taking. The girl is a drug addict and she belongs in jail for at least six months no rehab no probation cold turkey from the drugs and booze and it has to be a real jail and not some country club. She should be arrested for lying to the cops not once but twice she lied about being at that night club where she got into a fight she said she was home sleeping but they have her on video and she lied to the cops just last week she said she wasn’t driving when she slammed into the truck. And before that she blamed it on the brakes! A brand new Porsche 911 if she wasn’t driving why blame the brakes?
How exactly do you know all that?
John Barrymore, Robert Walker, Brian Keith, Judy Garland, Etc.. Etc…Etc. Actors throughout history have bared their inner souls to deliver spectacular performances through their gift of acting. We must remember that actors are but mere humans too and bare the burdens of life, just as those of us who are not famous and in the lime-lite. With the continued deterioration of the family unit and more and more young actors having no assistance in regards to aid in their direction regarding their personal issues, and cope with the fortune and fame…this is no easy task. These inner conflicts/demons are often the avenues used for these actors to deliver such awesome performances. In 1974, I asked Laurence Olivier what advise he could give a young actor. Larry replied, “Number one my lad JUST ACT…and second Always know your lines.” Well most actors are not as lucky as Olivier, to be able to “just act” and they more often than not reach deep inside their inner souls to perform. To those who are quick to be negative and judge…take these facts into consideration before making moronic statements! I can only hope and pray that Lindsay can get back on track with a little help from her friends! ~jeb
Oh please, she should follow Olivier’s advise, just act and always know your lines instead of all this drama off camera she delivers. She has to dress up and pretend for a very well paid job. I tend to think the people in the background, the crew, probably works up more of a sweat than she ever will working. Exhaustion, from what, baring her soul? Do not compare her to the actors you’ve listed because she has not earned the right. She keeps squandering the chances given to her time after time.
God, I am so sick of people blaming “artistic sacrifice” and “baring their soul for a perfomance” for what is clearly mental illness and/or self-medication (aka drug abuse.) Judy Garland’s problem was not that she was a great talent. Her adored father dropped dead when she was 12, at a time and place where grief counseling and psychiatry were were not employed for “normal” events. There were many other issues between her closeted gay father (who lived in a time and place where gays were not free to be) and her Mother, who was anxious to distance herself and her children from the “unspeakable scandal,” and pushed them relentlessly into Vaudeville Tours to get away. John Barrymore and Robert Walker were raging alcoholics, an illness many artistically UNtalented people share. Likewise for Brian Keith’s untreated depression. There are many, many talented actors who are not mentally ill or addicted, and many artistically bereft people who are. Can we please put to bed the myth that some kind of terrible inner torment is a necessity to be a good actor? And maybe then we can stop giving a pass to “talents” like Lindsay Lohan, who should have been put into inpatient treatment a long, long time ago.
It’s not helping her either. Poor girl needs to get off the Hollywood train for a long while.
This is crazy. She’s 25 years old. She can’t handle a 13 hour work day??? They need to shut down production and advise this girl to go to rehab instead of giving her more money to destroy herself. And then when the kid overdoses Hollywood will lament about how they should have and could have done more for her.
In any other career when you’re a known alcoholic or drug user with as much trouble as she has had with the law, the person would be terminated. But in Hollywood they keep offering her roles and throwing cash at her. Well, maybe not THAT many roles.
Relax. Take a deep breath. You are being played. You are responding to HYPE. LILO is one of the best actors of her generation — she gets it. SHE Understands what it takes to get you to WATCH a crappy TV movie – she is in on the game and will do what it takes to get you to watch — SO – relax –all will be OK. The only cause for sadness is that no GUY will be sleeping with her any time soon. The good news – you are being played. She knows what you want/crave – and that won’t happen tonight – stay tuned for RECORD ratings – regards JFK
Um, yeah, if that was the case she would pull a pub stunt RIGHT before it airs to get the ratings, not do it during production and risk her reputation again for future projects when she has been trying desperately to get work and taken seriously again. Nice try though. Enabler.
