Day 2 of the Gordon Ramsay premiere showcase on Fox had ups and downs. Hell’s Kitchen (2.1/7) was down 16% from last year’s second-night premiere, which at 9 PM MasterChef (2.1/6) was up 11% from last year’s second-day premiere. Over on NBC, America’s Got Talent (3.4/11) was down 8% from last week but still the biggest draw of the night with 12.2 million viewers. The two-hour season premiere of Love In The Wild (1.6/4) at 9 PM was also down, with the Jenny McCarthy-hosted reality show falling 27% from its debut last year. Still, NBC won the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers.
Despite a weekend of coverage from the UK and performances by Paul McCartney, Elton John, Shirley Bassey and more, ABC’s 20/20 Special Edition: Concert For The Queen: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration With Katie Couric (1.3/4) didn’t hit any high notes. The 9 PM Tuesday airing of Monday’s concert equaled last week’s The Jubilee Queen special, also hosted by Couric. ABC aired repeats of Last Man Standing at 8 PM (0.8/3) and 8:30 PM (0.8/3)
CBS ran a night of repeats.

I see a ton of folks did not watch Concert for The Queen….What you sadly missed was the most banal writing in modern TV history. On and on I was simply shocked Katie Couric would read the lines on the prompter. Concerts on such a grand scale are tough to pull off on the tube, yet it was truly marvelous compared to the writing. Truly cringe worthy!
These shows are totally trashy!
Bring back Harrys Law – a great show!
NBC resorting to ye more reality crap to try and pop a rating and this awful Love in the Wild will get worse before it gets better. As for ABC’s special, just hearing Katie Couric is grating to the ears. And as always, the CW fails to attract an audience.
