Comedy Central said today that The Comedy Central Roast Of Roseanne will tape August 4 in Los Angeles and premiere on the network August 12 at 10 PM. Comedy Central has seen solid numbers for its roast franchise, including last fall’s Charlie Sheen installment that set an 18-49 demo ratings record (4.5) for the network and drew a franchise-record 6.4 million viewers. Roseanne Barr this season had a pilot, Downwardly Mobile, that did not get picked up to series at NBC. Her Lifetime series Roseanne’s Nuts was cancelled after one season.

Roseanne’s 15 minutes are long over. She needs to just go away. The unconscionable and selfish way she mucks with peoples’ lives has made me her enemy for life.

I thought they roasted people that the public loves and respects, you can cant tell me they have run out of celebrities who gall into that catagory before picking Rosanne. It would be funny though if all the comics put her down and at the end of their set stated that they werent kidding they really hate her. lol

WONDERFUL! I don’t know what the commentators above are thinking, but Roseanne is a groundbreaking comedienne that absolutely deserves a good roasting!
Roseanne Barr is not funny at all. I have no idea why Roseanne lasted 9 years. Actually I do, it is two words: John Goodman. I was so relieved when Downwardly Mobile got rejected. Don’t want any more multi-cams clogging up television. Especially one about a trailer park.

Roseanne is going to be the worst roast. They better have good people in it though like lisa lampennelli. I think jane lynch is gonna be a good roast master though
How soon people forget! Rosanne was amazing (& still is)! What is w/ the negative comments? It must b from people too young to remember her genius or from extremely rich people who could not identify with her blue-collar comedy!

Roseanne will make a great roastee because most of the people still watching television, are the generation that grew up watching her show. Not to mention the plethora of jokes that can be made against her. No one cares about who gets roasted, just how good the jokes are.
