CNBC’s David Faber artfully got Rupert Murdoch to answer some hacking-scandal-related questions while talking up News Corp’s reorganization plan. The CEO says his son James was “not in the least” tarnished by his handling of the affair when he ran News International. “He’s been praised…told the truth all the way.” As for today’s news, Rupert says he’ll be “a pretty active chairman” of the publishing company, referring to whomever becomes its CEO as “my right hand.” He also says that he may turn The Wall Street Journal into a global brand, to be renamed WSJ.
