Warner Bros’ daytime syndication hopeful Bethenny, starring reality star Bethenny Frankel, got off to an encouraging start for its six-week test run on Fox stations in six markets. In its first airing yesterday, the talk show averaged a 1.5/5 in the overnight metered households, up 36% from its lead-in in the six markets and improving its time periods by 88% vs. last year. In women 25-54, Bethenny was up 67% from its lead-in and 200% vs. last year. So far it has been the highest-rated daytime talker tested on the Fox stations. Not surprisingly, Bethenny performed best in New York, Frankel’s home market, where it scored a 1.9/7 on WNYW, finishing third in the 11 AM hour behind ABC’s The View and CBS’ The Price Is Right. The only market where Bethenny fell from its lead-in was Philadelphia, where it averaged a 1.8/7 in homes, down from Wendy‘s 2.5/9.
Bethenny, executive produced by Ellen DeGeneres, didn’t make the cut for a fall 2012 launch but got a second chance with a summer test on the Fox stations. In addition to solid ratings on Day 1, the show also made some news, with Private Practice star Kate Walsh confirming to Frankel our story that she is leaving the ABC show this coming season. Not airing in my town so couldn’t see it but Bethenny does seem to have a strange appeal to women…although Id think most of her fans would be at work. I do find her a bit annoying and over the top so I couldn’t stand hearing her 5 days a week. I also think she’s becoming increasingly fake and creating a character. Also wondering if this show goes, will it stay in LA instead of NY. Im assuming LA may be cheaper and the Ellen staff which is producing this is based in LA but I think NY when I think of Bethenny and think the show would be stronger if it were a live show based out of NY at 11am if thats the time slot hteyre going after.
I guess anybody can have a show!
What is this woman’s appeal? She is probably the biggest narcissist on television. This show will bomb, soon.

Of course she’ll be #1 in NYC because it is her hometown and her other show originates from there. This is just one day as it was meant for curiosity, but I’m thin king this show, like the others FOX has tested, won’t see the light of day after the 6-week period is up. Too many talk shows on the air as it is and it’s just getting too crowded right now. No surprise on the Kate Walsh departure from her show as this was reported a few weeks back.

I would rather see the show taped in LA. If it’s an NYC based talk show there will be non-stop banter about where everyone had dinner last night and with whom.

I absolutely love her new talk show. I LOL all the time with her innapropriate remarks, she is as good as it gets, I hope Fox will make it permanent though.
I also love this show. I will miss it. It is the most ‘REAL’ show. I did not know anything about Bethenny before finding her talk show. I find her refreshing and her show VERY entertaining. I do feel like I am spending an hour with my ‘girlfriends’ Too sad to see it go. Rumor is that she was ‘too oppinionated’ in her business meetings with the big wigs. She is a great example of women that are real. My girlfriends do not always give an opinion I agree with so I don’t substitute theirs for mine, but I still listen and consider another point of view. People should watch her show BEFORE slamming it. DUH
This show is horrible to watch and listen to, this show should be cancelled ASAP. Very immature and pathetic topics and host.
Being a narcissist is kind of a requirement for being on television. So she’s got the goods. I think she’s a great brand and I would much rather see her succeed than the horrible talk shows that are on now. Wendy?
I like Bethenny. I like her quick wit and banter. I hope though, her show will not always be about sex topics. That will turn into a major yawn… Hope she keeps it fresh and funny!
She starts off by saying the show is about “us” and not “her.” she interrupts guests, she constantly talks about herself – it’s totally about her. Was looking forward to this show, but how she used divorce rumors to drum up ratings and had canned responses, plus her annoying narcissistic behavior made me change the channel.

This show will be a success. Going up against new talk shows with Jeff Probst, Ricki Lake and Katie?? Bethenny is a sure hit, uniqiue, different and perfect spot after Wendy. The View and The Talk, so same, boring. Hello Oprah, you should have grabbed her befor Ellen…..
Can’t take her voice and she interrupts her guests. I think she’ll do anything for fame and don’t buy the show’s about us – it’s always about the great Bethenny. Just sayin’.

Enough! She has been shoved down our throats. From Bravo, we all know she has a mouth. I tried to watch. Can’t take it. It’s so forced. Go back to NYC, your huge apartment,your husband and baby and live off your millions of skinnygirl dollars and enjoy before everyone gets sick of you.
She doesn’t seem genuine. It’s like she’s putting on a performance…same thing with her Bravo show.
I feel very muc the same way! Was a huge Bethenny fan when I RHONY, even met her once at a Kathy griffin comedy show, approached her and was pleasantly surprised how lovely she was. Fast forward to this past season of Bethenny and very early on in the season I felt something in her had shifted and the appeal was gone for me! Now it appears her paws are in EVERYTHING and that reminds me of the adage , throw enough crap at the wall and something is bound to stick. Her brand of ambition is a turnoff. It’s too aggressive for my palette. She made a comment recently on twitter she will get this latest show picked up y sheer determination. And I believe her!
Loved Bethenny when she aired on “Bethenny’s getting married”, but after that she has become such a narcissist barely giving her guest/audience time to participate on her current show because she cant shut up! Jason is the best thing she has going for her! If she does end up leaving him (provided all the rumors are true) then I’m done with her.
You r out of your mind if you think she is getting fake. Bethany has been the same person from day one.
Also, what does her private life have to do with all she has to offer women. You have no idea what happens in someones home. I don’t think.we get to see EVERYTHING in there life on reality tv. We see whats best for ratings. I hope bethany both shows for as long as it makes her happy.

The little girl dance she does on the same spot every day drives me crazy! I used to enjoy her and now I don’t. Her narcissism has finally taken her essence away and she’s nothing but an ego-hungry shell.
