EXCLUSIVE: E! Entertainment, which has been ramping up its first scripted development slate, has bought an hourlong project from Hollywood PR veteran Howard Bragman. Inspired by Bragman’s real-life experiences, the untitled project centers on 30-years-old Jake Levy, a rising star publicist who, after hitting his peak at his NYC firm, makes a drastic move and launches out onto his own. Bragman co-founded leading entertainment PR agency Bragman Nyman Cafarelli in 1989. Sixteen years later, following BNC’s acquisition by Interpublic Group, Bragman left to launch his own boutique PR firm Fifteen Minutes.
Matthew Lieberman (In Plain Sight) will write the script for the untitled Howard Bragman project, now in development. Bragman and Lieberman will executive produce with Prospect Park’s Josh Barry and Lee Kernis of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, which reps Bragman. Universal Cable Prods is producing in its first collaboration with new NBCUniversal corporate sibling E!.
The deal for the dramedy comes on the heels of E! unveiling its first slate of scripted projects at its upfront presentation in April. The slate features hourlong projects from John Wells, Kevin Spacey, Michael De Luca, Phillip Noyce, Emily Whitesell and Josh Reims. It is part of the channel’s strategy of introducing scripted programming to the the channel — known for its celebrity news and reality programs — under new boss Bonnie Hammer.

I’m glad for Howard. He parlayed his TV appearances and blunt common sense into a new avenue. Congratulations!
LOL.
Would this be a series emulating the brilliant segment on The Daily Show…”How to Polish A Turd”?
If so, this might be very entertaining, indeed. Hope so.
He needs his own 15 minutes.
This should be called “Not Dirt”… (as in the fx show)
I am surprised Howard is not also starring in it…
Cause the whole world wants to watch tv and see Howard’s life reenacted. Just like we all want to watch Ryan Murphy’s baby quest every week.
Need any creative input on the early years?
I worked w/ H for a few years at Burson. He was Media Dir. and I was Creative Dir. He’s the real deal. It was the late 80′s/early 90′s and I was in my addictions, big time. Best of luck to you bro’. I wrote a crappy screenplay based on experience in crisis media training. Lemme know if you’re open to a script. F
Well done Howard! You’re giving all your fellow flacks reason to hold our heads high! Kudos!
Never in my career have I come across another person who could provide a creative solution faster and more effectively than HB!! So lucky that the early years of my career were working side by side…so proud of Howard and his continued amazing career.
What better name for PR is there than Bragman?
If that was a fictional character name it would be too heavy-handed…
