Here are extended looks at three new CW dramas the network has released: the fairy tale-turned-procedural Beauty & The Beast, the Green Arrow superhero tale Arrow and the Mamie Gummer-starring young doctor drama Emily Owens MD. All are set for the fall schedule. Each show off much more than the original clips released immediately after the network’s upfront presentation last month.
Here’s Beauty & The Beast:

What’s the over/under for how many episodes until Emily Owens sleeps with her resident?
poor cw…probably be kaput sometime next year
What the heck happened to Secret Circle???????
Beauty looks pretty bad… as in, not good. man, hate saying that.
Arrow – seems the island stories would be more interesting than the city/criminal/family dynamic stories.
The other I didn’t bother to watch. Sick of doctors and their tv shows.
They never learn. Just shut CW down and save money
This is why The CW is at the bottom of the heap–great premises with the shoddiest–and shittiest–writing. At least KK’s acting has improved greatly since Smallville, and Emily Owens looks halfway decent–unfortunately, just on the wrong network (it looks more like a TBS show than CW).
Seriously? I spit out my coffee when she said defiantly, “But now, I’m a COP!” Dun dun dun! That was some horrible line delivery.
I have to agree. I think Kreuk has gotten worse not better. I think she’s miscast as a NYC cop. This whole thing looks like a huge train wreck.
She is a stunningly beautiful woman and seems like a very lovely person inside and out, but I don’t think she’s a very good actress.
You can always count on your daily dose of bitterness and negativity in the Deadline comments. Go anywhere else online and that Arrow preview is killing it. People are loving it. But come to Deadline and it’s all this sucks and that should be canceled.
It never fails.
Definitely going to watch Beauty and the Beast.. and maybe Arrow too.
Wow! All three of these shows look EXCEPTIONAL, and I’ll most definitely be watching them all on a weekly basis.
It’s funny how negative posters (above) just seem to flock to message boards. I certainly hope no one takes them seriously. They’re obvious losers.
CW Rocks.
Only losers whine about getting beat up in comments. Sac up and take it like a man.
I like the look of Arrow and Emily Owens looks cute enough for me to check it out but Beauty & The Beast looks awful and some sort of TV movie from Syfy!
Personally I think the premise for all of these series looks awesome, but the problem is that not enough $$$ was invested in the visual and on-camera elements. “Beauty and the Beast” and “Arrow” are very viseral high-concept ideas and desire and need the budget to bring those worlds fully to life, and yet they look like they are being produced by ABC Family.
And for the same reasons I think “Emily Owens, MD” looks better than it deserves, but I remain by my previous comment that changing the title to that from “First Cut” sealed the shows fate. I really hope their comedy pilots and the reworking of “The Selection” works out for them because there are going to be definite holes in the schedule by February.
Ok:
1. They dropped the underground romantic Renaissance dwellings.
2. The beast is hardly a beast. Even with that scar on his face he looks like a model.
3. KK is more bitchy than the romantic/soft Linda Hamilton. This new Katherine is kind of a turn off.
The CW dropped the ball. They could have taken the original cinematic production values of the original and made it even more epic.
But, the good news is that we will always have the original which has a far bigger scale then this show. This show is so different from the original that I’m not damning it. It could be a good show. But, it’s no Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman Beauty and The Beast. NOT EVEN CLOSE.
Hey, look – Oliver Queen has moved into Lex Luthor’s old house! They’ve even recycled some of the interior sets…not to mention the series concepts themselves.
How did the show recycle any show’s concept?
Once again, everything old is new again.
“Beauty & the Beast” = largely a gender reversal on “Dark Angel”
“Arrow” = “Batman Begins”, except this billionaire gets his fighting mojo from an island instead of the Far East
“Emily Owens, MD” = “Grey’s Anatomy” anyone?
I guess imitation is still the sincerest form of flattery…
“Beauty and the Beast” looks nothing like “Dark Angel.” Both feature genetic runaways and one is a rip-off now?
How is “Emily Owens, MD” a rip-off of “Grey’s Anatomy”? Because they are hospital dramas with female leads?
The writers can’t help that “Arrow” is also about a billionaire that becomes a superhero.
Lucky for pathetic you that you aren’t a writer so I can just shrug off whatever idea you come up with as a rip-off of an earlier idea for the vaguest and most superficial of similarities
I’ll wait for Cult at midseason, thanks.
Stephen Amell is going to be HUGE! He looks absolutely phenomenal in “Arrow.”
What’s so wrong with GREEN Arrow?
Why no domino mask at least? Both him and Hawkeye in the Avengers movie. It’s ANNOYING.
These all look pretty good. Go CW!
All look promising! I’d definitely watch them!
Beauty and the beast was awesome, I was expecting it to be horrible. It was amazing. Along with arrow I enjoyed it as we’ll. but I will defiantly be watching beauty and the beast every week!!!!
