From the makers of the virtual Tupac Shakur, who “appeared” at the Coachella Valley Music Festival, comes virtual Elvis Presley. CORE Media Group (formerly CKx), which owns the Presley brand, has signed a deal with digital production company Digital Domain Media Group to develop, produce and own a series of “virtual” Elvis Presley likenesses for entertainment projects – shows and appearances to film, TV and multi-platform productions throughout the world. “This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis Presley to life,” said Elvis Presley Enterprises President and CEO, Jack Soden. The companies have already begun work on the virtual Elvis Presley likenesses.

Am I the only one that thinks this just sounds “creepy”?
no, no you aren’t. granted, he’s probably more talented than most of what’s out there now, i’d still rather just let the dead remain dead instead of using their likeness to sell vacuum cleaners.
Is he also available for birthday parties ?..:)
LET THESE PEOPLE DIE!
ELVIS WILL NEVER BE DEAD AS LONG AS PEOPLE REMEMBER HIM, IN FACT HE’S UP IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW SINGING TO THE LORD CAN’T YOU HEAR HIM ?. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND STOP BEING SO DOWN ON EVERYTHING ?. HAVE A NICE DAY…
Client: “our actor was late so we shot half the scene without him, you can just throw Elvis back there and change his haircut, right? Since you already have him made it shouldn’t cost more.” – looking forward.
Can’t wait to see him live in Vegas again.
This seems like a terrible idea.
How do I invest in this Elvis venture? It’s going to make a boat-load of money. I never liked him, anyway.
If you want to invest in it, buy Digital Domain’s stock, DDMG.
Let the dead stay dead. Unless a person signs something in life that gives permission for them to be resurrected on film after death, then this is incredibly disrespectful to dead artists. It cheapens their memory.
There’s still a sucker born every minute, so let’s leap well beyond bachelors racing to lose weight while singing and dancing with the Kardashian’s. C’mon, who cares if it’s totally creepy, bizarre and unethical? Until we can reanimate a an actual corpse, c’mon, bring it on. After all. . there’s money to be made.
Now we’re in LOOKER territory, starring Albert Finney, it was a stupid suspense film.
Almost as stupid as this idea.
HOLLYWOOD has always made money off of dead stars… virtual stars is just a continuation of the same old exploitation.
You’re going to see new movies with absolutely dream casts. James Dean will be re-born, and he’ll work with Steve McQueen or maybe Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Clark Gable. With all the increasing CGI in this town, everything is a fake.
With people becoming more humanoid in this world today, virtual reality seems like a natural, or should I say artificial fit!
Disgusting
In the 3D movie version, during a freak lightening storm, Virtual Tupac gains self-awareness and escapes into the ‘real’ world to exact his revenge… and only Virtual Elvis can stop him!
Or can he…
i want to see the thin, good looking and young Elvis…please!!!
I like zombies and Elvis, so this is a no brainer (pardon the pun).
Next thing this company will do is start cloning all these deceased people. I mean, come on now! Cheap ratings stunt perhaps?
You’ve never been to the Graceland gift shops.
Awww, i am sure Col Parker is rolling in his grave b/c he cannot make$$$$ off this Elvis also.
ELVIS ALONG WITH A VAST MAJORITY OF CELEBRITIES WERE AND STILL ARE MORE ENTERTAINING IN THEIR TIME AS WELL AS NOW THAN WHAT WE HAVE CURRENTLY SO ENJOY AND FOR YOU HATERS ANYONE CAN CRITICIZE LETS SEE YOU CREATE SOMETHING INSTEAD OF NEGATIVITY
