The Ray William Johnson Channel is the most subscribed channel on YouTube, with more than 5 million subscribers and over 1.8 billion views. Providing twice-weekly commentary and frequent criticism on viral videos, Johnson created the online show Equals Three in 2008. Johnson’s channel is part of the Maker Studios Online Network for which he continues to produce online content. Johnson also has, after Rihanna’s Vevo channel, the second-most-subscribed music channel on YouTube, YourFavoriteMartian. Since the animated video channel’s launch in early 2011, he has released 30 original songs and a couple of cover tunes. He has sold more than 1 million singles on iTunes. Using his online success as a launching pad, WME plans to build the 30-year-old out in multiple areas. He will continue to be managed by 3 Arts.

I think that ray deserves all of this success because he worked hard for it… His videos were admitably better when he didn’t have a giant crew and studio, the jokes were less cheesy and contents more original.
Completely agree. I still love him but I’ve just loved him a bit less recently. Too many cooks syndrome, me thinks.
I’m sick of all of these people hating on anyone that builds success on YouTube. Ray started out doing something that he is passionate about, and still is. The only difference now, is that he has found a way to make a living from it. What person wouldn’t love to make a living doing something that they actually LIKE. Seems to me that people that are unhappy with their lives need to tear down people that are happy. I say congratulations Ray, and well done.
The thing is: he already makes a living out of Youtube like many others do. That doesn’t mean I don’t think signing with an agent is a bad idea, quite the contrary. Success in Youtube can come quite quickly but it might not last long. Signing with an agent definitely gives him more stability in life and ensures that even when his Youtube channels die out some day, he will still be able to work in the entertainment industry.
I say, “Hats off to you Ray”. Be cause I have been watching Ray since he first started his channel. He has always been funny to me. True there have been some harsh episodes, however, he has made it to where he is by his since of humor and style. Ray is hard working and always thanks his fans for all the attention they have given him, and he so far seems sincere. The only thing I hope is that having an agent does not change the show to much. Also that he keeps his other channels as well. I do love “Your Favorite Martian”. Keep up the good work Ray. You rock.

I couldn’t agree more – the show evolves and certainly some people are going to like the way that happens, some people – not so much. I think it’s great that Ray is getting the popularity he deserves, because he worked hard to get where he is now – something I can’t really say about most of the so-called “stars” out there.

This is awesome to see. Really I loved everything Ray has put out wether it was music or just another video it’s good. I’m glad he’s moving forward with this. I just hope he doesn’t let anything ruin what he’s started. And if people are so offended by one mans decision or cheesy jokes then go somewhere else. Let this play out.

Congratulations Ray! I Personally like rays videos a ton. To me it seemed without the big camera crew Rays content was more original and the jokes were better.With or without the crew his show is still the best. lets just hope ray stays at the top. he has earned everything he has and him slipping down would be devastating. Loosing Rays Accomplishment, would be like loosing a part of myself. With the hilarious content, im not suprised that RayWJ’s Videos are at #1.
I think ray is doing something good in his life he went from a hobby to a career and is still doing wut he loves to do and his shows havent gotten less funny if anything they have gotten better.Congratulations ray!!!!!
How has he sold out? I’m pretty sure he has a goal. He wasn’t going to stick around on YouTube for another 50 year’s. He wants to make a better life for himself. I say he deserves all the successes. Yes, the show seemed better in that crappy little apartment with the brick wall..but only because he made a lot of mistakes and he made fun of himself for it and we loved him for that. BUT … he’s more polished now, more experienced and yes…better. Congrads Ray, your success is well deserved and very much earned.
