Wow, I better check out Longmire.
Don’t botter…slow and boring.
Feels like a lot of people I know think this. But I find it the most riveting show on television. Easily my new favorite show. I like it more than – GASP – “Justified.”
It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you like a good drama without a lot unnecessary, then Longmire is a good choice. That said, I certainly wouldn’t call it boring.
Inane industry groupthink. People stay in LA long enough and they mistake fearful consensus for thought. Smart, considerate show. Genre pleasures executed with literate feeling and thought.
I watched it since the beginning and I love it! One of the best new shows! Glad is getting renewed for 2nd season!
Breaking Bad and The Newsroom get all the attention but Longmire is probably the most enjoyable show on Sunday nights. It’s at a similar IQ level as the other two shows except its characters are not horribly pretentious or criminally insane.
both shows are awesome !!!!!!!!
Longmire is best show of the summer by far. Hope it stays on for years.
Love “The Glades” and “Longmire”! Best shows ever!
This is a great cowboy show
Read the books also, they are great!!! Written by Craig Johnson, I thinkI there are 5 or 6… Be sure to read in order for best appreciation of Longmire.
Longmire is definitely me favorite show!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you like shows with extra loud laugh tracks, recycled jokes, repetitive story lines, and one dimensional characters, Longmire is not the show for you. If you like good stories, episodes that stand alone as well as having recurring plot lines, well fleshed out characters (not just talking about Katee Sackoff, that’s a bonus)and writing that rises well above the eighth grade level, you should check this show out. If you like a western theme, that’s another plus, but you don’t have to wear Wranglers and Justins to enjoy Longmire.
Longmire isn’t slow and boring…..just requires a thinking person to like it. It quietly twists and turns….figure out the end before it’s over if you want to say it’s slow and boring.
The Glades are given kudo’s on finding new plots, and for the slow approach to the relationships of the actors to one another. Also for their star hero and his offhand manner and delicious grin!
I have not watched The Glades but would not miss an episode of Longmire. Have not enjoyed a show this much since 24 ended. So glad to hear it has been renewed for Season 2.
Longmire doesn’t have the “normal” Hollywood flash, boom, bang. What it does have is solid acting, plots worth talking about the next day and a true family of fans here in Redlands, CA.
Love the books, love the series!!!
It is the modern western. Longmire is a man’s man. Smart, tough, honest, subtle. Always a good story, well acted, & beautiful scenery. It is the only show on tv that I make an appointment for. I wish all lawmen were like Longmire.
Longmire is my new favorite. My tv time is limited and this is the show that I get the most quality. The Glades has good numbers so they probably will get a season4. The outcry on others boards re: the beautiful Jennifer is useless as it already in the can. How could anyone think it would go any other way. A stunning women,Jim’s history and Callie again a victim. My advice be prepared in eps 8,9,and 10. Read the ep guides.
Glades — can’t stand to watch a show where EVERYONE you meet is a suspect. Where the lead cop just happens to know more about forensics than the forensics guy, so he can look “heroic”. Where plots are shoehorned into the story, even if they don’t naturally fit. No thanks.
yeah, the guys really a cocky jerk know-it-all. Wouldn’t last a week in real Law Enforcement. All Hollywierd B.S. fantasy-police. Hollywierd pervs can never get anything right because their brains are not based in reality or the real world.
Longmire is saddleworthy…no honest spark on Glades between the detective and the nurse and she’s too whiney…Justified is top gun…hooray for cowboys!
Longmire is a show that requires a bit of thought which makes it stand out from most of the rest. The acting is good particularly Longmire himself. This is one of the best new shows in years. The Glades is fun but mainly because of the main star. The plot doesn’t always make sense but who cares really.
Somehow these two shows back each other very well. They go together like salsa & chips,Hot too.
I absolutely love The Glades. I like Longmire. I just waiting to hear those magic words. Both shows will be returning.
although both shows, Longmire and the Glades, are once again a Hollywierd corn-fed version of what real police work and Law Enforcement is about, the shows are decent, but none the less, Hollywierd Garbage on the whole. The usual Politically-Correct nonsense..
Longmire is an intelligent, people centered series! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching it BECAUSE it is not the typical show…. looking for a quick laugh or CGI to make the story. I am still watching the reruns… Just viewed the pilot again and saw so much more the second time!! Longmire is a winner!!
Glad The glades and Longmire are renewed one of the best tandem on TV
