Yeah, bitch! MAGNETS!!!
Nice.
Needed that belly laugh.
Because I said so.
I wonder if this will be replayed during the week. I watched it but missed the encore would like to see it again
Did any of the #s from their live online stream make it into these ratings? Take that DISH Network, yeah bitch!
Ratings aren’t accurate. I watched it online an hour after it aired, as I’m sure many others did. So far, so good. I loved the new episode!
They count those. Called, “live plus same day”, meaning, watched later on DVR.
Why does that fact that you watched it online mean that the TV ratings aren’t accurate?
This continues to show that serialized television shows can build an audience over time. You just have to give people time to watch/catch the show. Many people I know have caught up using Netflix and now watch the show live. Meanwhile the main broadcast networks don’t seem to realize this and release previous season DVDs the week before the new season starts. That’s not enough time to develop a new audience!
Yeah, I agree that a big part of this had to do with all the prior seasons being available on Netflix. Great move by AMC.
I agree. I started watching Breaking Bad after a small verbal reference on Justified this past January. It was its availability on Netflix that allowed me to become addicted (er…catch up) on the first 3 seasons, then iTunes for Season 4. Last night was the first live show I’d seen.
Exactly. I missed the Breaking Bad boat, but recently watched the first 3 seasons on Netflix, downloaded season 4 from ITunes bc I was absolutely hooked to the show and wanted to catch up before season 5 started. It’s Heisenberg time!
Interesting point. Why not release your shows most recent season on DVD and the internet just a few months after the finale airs? Better yet, put the episodes online the same night they air, which I believe Breaking Bad already does. It’s not like releasing a boxset creates buzz or raises awareness the way it did ten years ago. Just put it online! This would increase live viewership when the next season airs and cut down on illegal downloading.
AMC was replaying every show since Season 1 for the past month. All you had to do was DVR them and watch them without using Netflix or iTunes, etc. Unless you’re broke and don’t have cable!
As a selfish fan, I wish we had more than 16 episodes for the final two seasons. With audience growing last season and now this season, it seems like a no-brainer to squeeze out more episodes… not that making good TV is a no-brainer. Whether it was AMC or Vince Gilligan who wanted this, I trust Gilligan and his team to make due with the eps they have.
Sony was guilty of that with Breaking Bad DVD releases for seasons one and two, giving people 1-2 weeks to catch up. Seasons 3 and 4 have now come out more than a month before the new season.
The Netflix Effect… YEAHHH BITCH!
Breaking Bad is maybe the best entertainment on cable. Maybe the writer is running out of ideas; his writing (along with actors) addicted us as bad as meth would have. Let the viewers decide when to bury the show. We deserve that cure.
