Anthony Hopkins has signed on to play Methusaleh in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. He joins Russell Crowe, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Jennifer Connelly, and Douglas Booth. Aronofsky tweeted the hire earlier today. The film is backed by Paramount Pictures and New Regency.

Christ. That offer must not have helped Hopkins’ self-esteem any: “Tony baby, we want you to play friggin’ METHUSELAH, the oldest man on the planet. Ernie Borgnine was attached but he’s unavailable.”
This is the best post anybody’s written all year.
No, Hopkins probably will play an evil entrepreneur who will try to tempt Noah into changing the boat from an ark into a cruise ship.
Still trying to figure out how Europeans wound up both ruling and being enslaved in an AFRICAN nation. If the only blacks in this pic are servants than it will be boycotted. Hate it when Hollywood throws off historical accuracy to make these movies. Shame.
Umm, I think you’re confusing Noah with Moses, dude. Noah didn’t live in Africa, lolz.
What self-respecting cynic could resist the opportunity to comment on this?
In all fairness, Joan Rivers and Cher should have been given a shot – you know, what with affirmative action and all. Their make-up artists could handle the transformation with ease.
Tony’s agent must be ecstatic. He’ll be able to snatch the job as spokesman for Depends, after this.
The cast will not add five cents to the gross for this film.
Cannot believe, no matter how this film is cast and played out, that it will have any audience unless the visual effects for the flooding is spectacular…and, then I still have doubts.
Best of luck to Darren, Paramount and New Regency as this film will need a miracle to succeed.
Maybe you should just start saying who isn’t in this pic
