CBS has released the key art designs for its four new fall series: dramas Elementary, Vegas and Made In Jersey and comedy Partners. The image for Elementary, a contemporary take on the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson set in New York City, features stars Jonny Lee Miller (Holmes) and Lucy Liu (Watson) with the tagline “New Holmes. New Watson. New York.” Partners, about two life-long best friends and business partners — one straight (David Krumholtz) and one gay (Michael Urie) — and their significant others (Sophia Bush, Brandon Routh), actually uses a line creators Max Mutchick and David Kohan used to pitch the show: “Four Friends. Three Couples.” The key art for Vegas, set in 1960s Las Vegas as it begins its rise as a gambling and entertainment mecca, showcases stars Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, while Made In Jersey is all about its lead, Martina Garretti (Janet Montgomery), a young working-class woman from New Jersey who uses her street smarts to succeed at a top New York law firm. Could made in Jersey borrow any more from legally blonde??? This would’ve felt fresh back in 2000.
No she’s brunette, you see. Completely different.
Or maybe there simply aren’t any original stories left to tell but only original variations?
….and maybe while they were at it, they could have cast someone actually from NJ. This seems more like a British reinterpretation of “Jersey Shore” meets “The Good Wife”.
Made In Jersey – this fall on USA…oops! I mean CBS.
love the looks – it conveys the essence of each program. Nice job
Partners looks surprisingly good.
Partners? Another W&G clone? Um, no thanx! Made in Jersey, starring that Jersey Girl Janet Montgomery-maybe from Jersey Islands, the UK-shes a Brit, playing a gal from NJ? Really!
I think you are confusing UK actors with American actors. You see actors from countries other than the USofA can do accents not of their home country, it is only American ‘actors’ who seem to have a problem with this part of the ‘acting’ craft.
Yeah, look at that. Pictures of people, looking straight into the camera. Or, pretending to talk to each other. Scintillating artwork.
Nothing I’ve heard about these shows makes me want to watch them, and this gallery of bland and lazy key art only reinforces that feeling. Maybe it’s time for Les to stop being a Master of the Universe and do a little work back at the shop.
The photo of Dennis Quaid says it all- well done.
I’ll bet the networks have consultants and shrinks telling them that’s the way to connect with TV audiences. Make them fell like they are part of the story, not the audience.
CBS is really treading water these days. Unable or unwilling to try new things they keep painting the deck of the Titanic with knockoff of it’s old shows. CSI is dead and POI is already flaccid just like every Abrams show after the first season. (Get ready for the evil twins!)
They called back Unforgettable because they know they’re gonna need it when three of these four show fails. I predict Elementary.
Is Made in Jersey the best CBS can do? Wow, maybe there is hope for NBC.
Wow, Dennis Quaid must be hard up for a paycheck doing a CBS series! I guess all the remakes (Footloose) and crappy summer movies (GI JOE) just ain’t cuttin’ it. These are sad times.
Tell that to Angela Lansbury who went on from doing movies and Broadway musicals to leading Murder She Wrote to 12 seasons+several TV films.
Look… fairly legal on CBS!
Can’t wait for VEGAS!!!
I like these promo posters. Nice job.
Elementary is the only one I have interest in. Well maybe. And I agree with someone above. Made in Jersey does look like Legally Blonde
Vegas has me interested in watching CBS for the first time since 2004. I hate every show on that network, but Vegas intrigues me.
Maybe it’s the audience that sucks not the network… Made in jersey is more like working girl intelligent and fun.
Vegas was a film story that was too big to tell in two hours but gritty and brimming over with talent and stories o be told… Sherlock holmes never gets old… And partners is probably a good time too…..
Let’s try and skip screwing the pooch…
