Cinedigm Entertainment Group has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the film which is planned for release across theatrical, on-demand and premium digital in Spring 2013. Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey is the real-life rock-n-roll story of Filipino singer Arnel Pineda, a formerly homeless teen who was plucked from YouTube by lead guitarist and founding Journey member Neal Schon to become the front man for the iconic American rock band and a real-life celebrity. The film follows Arnel on this personal odyssey, including a worldwide tour with core band members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory and Deen Castronovo, and a homecoming performance in Manila for 25,000 people. Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. It was directed and written by Ramona S. Diaz. Diaz also co-produced the film with Cappella Fahoome Brogden. John Baruck and Joshua Green served as executive producers. Cinedigm Entertainment Group is a division of Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp.

When the Sopranos finale aired, I thought they used this cheeseball song not because of the Meadow parallels, but because like most guido gangsters it’s garish and empty. Shit covered in whipped cream.
Then the song goes and becomes popular again, and I’m still fucking hearing it. God damn you, David Chase.
Not a Journey fan, but very happy for the kid.
Great news. This is a really amazing film!
Arnel’s story is amazing, and he does an extraordinarily fantastic job making Journey feel and sound like Journey.
And with nothing but admiration for Arnel and as good as he is…there is only one Steve Perry like there is only one Freddy Mercury. And as a huge Journey fan, I miss Steve Perry.
That being said…Arnel and this story are terrific.
We are kindred spirits, I think. I have always said the two best voices in rock and roll are Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry. While Freddie was probably the best VOICE (the man sang opera, for goodness sake!), Steve Perry, however, is the WHOLE PACKAGE-looks, charisma, and a voice that can bring most women, and a fair share of men, to their knees (no pun intended, I swear!) with one note.
I saw Journey in concert a few weeks ago, and Arnel is truly an awesome singer. But he’s not Steve Perry (Sorry Neal).
I just wish the guys could get past whatever it is, agree to disagree and make some more music. Just a little more.
We never got to say goodbye.
I agree, no one will ever fill Steve Perry’s shoes. I do miss him. But, Arnel has breathed fresh air in to Journey. His smile is infectious and he leads the band very efficiently.
Way to go Josh Green!!
I love this film!!!!
Definitely wouldn’t have happened without the talent and hard work of Josh Green. Congrats!
What rock you come from under….crawl back under it. Journey is awesome and so is that amazingly written and sung song. If you can do better then try. This is an amazing story by an amazing young man and awesome band.
Never heard of this Pineda kid, but Steve Augeri rocks.
Great news. Any chance the movie makes it over to Europe?
Awesome story, Awesome band, Awesome choice bringing Arnel into Journey! I have been a Journey fan for 33 years, and have seen them through several singers since Steve Perry (I was/am a HUGE FAN of “The Voice”) – but without Arnel there would not be a Journey anymore – so Thank you, Neal, Thank you, YouTube, and Thank you, Arnel!!! Journey Lives, and Journey Rocks!!! Can’t wait to see you live at Fantasy Springs in December!!
I will always give props to Steve Perry – his music is on all of the Journey songs that I love; but, I can’t hate this guy Pineda for taking an opportunity that anyone would give their right arm for. Who wouldn’t want to sing for Journey, especially if it meant getting out of poverty? Journey picked him for a reason, and I can respect that; but, people shouldn’t compare Steve Perry with Arnell or Steve Augeri. Perry was the original – everyone who comes after is just paying tribute Arnell sings Steve’s and Journey’s songs and does a good job of it. He shouldn’t be penalized for doing the job that Neal asked him to do, especially since he’s brought a resurgence of interest again to Journey among new generations of fans.
