The upcoming seventh season of Dexter sees the Miami
serial killer busted by his own sister, Comic-Con fans learned today. A brief look (see below) at the opening minutes of the upcoming Showtime series’ next-to-last season showed Dexter Morgan caught by his homicide detective foster sibling Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) as he cuts up the series’ Travis character. After trying to talk his way out of the situation, the forensic analyst finally seems to lose his cool when Debra goes to call in the incident. That’s when the screen went black and the crowd went wild. Otherwise, despite a lengthy Q&A from adoring fans, cast members Michael C. Hall, Carpenter, and
executive producer Scott Buck kept pretty quiet about what the new season will bring. What was not quiet was that Yvonne Strahovski, the former Chuck co-star, would be joining the show this year as Hanna. Described by the actress, who was also on the panel, as “a woman of mystery who meets Dexter and helps him with an old murder investigation,” the Hanna character seemed to be a pivotal figure in the season. “I can’t say more, there are lots of things I’m not allowed to say or I’ll get in trouble,” said Strahovski. She did say that while she had only been filming on Dexter for a few days she already liked it more than her former show. “Dexter’s better,” Strahovski said to big applause. Earlier the packed ballroom was shown scenes from a Dexter video game and a new episode from the new season of the animated Dexter prequel web series Final Cuts. Here’s that footage:

No thanks… You lost me with Julia Stiles season.
Just painful.
Oh, how discerning you are.
The fifth season was superb. It’s too bad Lumen left.
The only bad season was season three. Looking forward to this one.
You must not have watched this last round… my TV actually groaned.
Season 5 was frakin AWFUL and Julie Stiles was unwatchable.
Did anyone notice the crew member talking in the background? it is possible this is just a comic-con exclusive? Or perhaps a dream sequence- but definitely not “final cut.”
She really trashed “Chuck”, which she was on for years, after just a few days of working on “Dexter”? That doesn’t seem… wise.
Yeah way to burn those bridges! Its not like Josh Schwartz has lots of projects and potential jobs for her!!
Kind of a misrepresentation of the quote…a fan asked during the Q&A which one she liked better Chuck or Dexter (waste of a question, honestly) and Yvonne said “Dexter” and then joked that she felt like she had to say Dexter since she was at the Dexter panel.
I think it’s so interesting how wildly opinions vary on this show. For me personally the Julia Stiles season was the best. I just thought she was perfect and that season was perfectly plotted. I also enjoyed the Jimmy Smits season. Last year, however, was a MESS. That godawful Colin Hanks and the love subplot with Debra and Dexter nearly derailed the whole series. And I still feel that the final reveal was a cheap way to win back the fans and that the moment deserved more. I hope that they find a way to bring Dexter to a natural conclusion because this show is starting to show its age.
Michael C Hall and James Remar are my faves
That guy is cool.
