HBO confirms it’s ordered 8 more episodes of the off-beat baseball comedy Eastbound & Down that stars Danny McBride. The show ended its third season in April, but left room for more storytelling. It features McBride as a former
Major League Baseball pitcher living in Shelby County, North Carolina. Fate brought him close to reclaiming his former glory, both on the field and in the sack with his high school sweetheart April, but the comeback eluded him. He ended up abandoning April at a convenience store and hitting the road to start a new life – as a cockfighter in Mexico. McBride’s character Kenny Powers was back in the states in Season 3, facing challenges as a single parent with a baby. McBride exec produces the show, along with Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy, Adam McKay and Jody Hill.

OMG….sooooooo excited!!!!!! Kenny Powers Rocks!!!
Seriously – this is an awesome show and Danny is a
terrific actor!!
Eastbound and such a letdown… I gave up second season. This show had so much promise.
it still does! rejoice!
Give the show to Kenny’s sidekick. He’s the real talent.
The side kick really does steal the show. Super funny guy.
Season 3 was the best yet. Can’t wait for Kenny to finger bang the shit out of the 4th.
well alright alright
No! They should have just left it, season three ended perfectly
I agree.
Funniest show on television.
Why???
…do you not have a sense of humor? No idea.
I find myself wanting to like this show far more than I actually do. That said, there is usually one line a week that I find funny enough to laugh out loud.
Love the show, but thought season three was an insult to its fans. Does not deserve another season.
The most overrated and disappointing comedy on television. McBride can be hilarious but you’d never know from this show. A character can hilarious because he’s a dick (e.g., Alan Partridge), but just being a dick doesn’t make him automatically funny. There isn’t a shred of wit to this show.
You have no taste and no sense of humor. McBride’s character is friggin brilliant! He is able to be a total asshole, yet still sympathetic and lovable!
I assume you’re repping McBride, right, with a comment like that? The humor is clearly for teens who are just starting to cuss… was hoping for a lot more here. Glad to see HBO isn’t giving them a full 13.
Really tried to like this show, but never found McBride or the storylines funny. Needs better writing.
Blah. Season one was great. Season two was a disaster. Season three was a leeettle better than season two. The series ending was stupid, but obviously cobbled together at the last minute to allow for a fourth season, after saying three would be their last. I would have preferred they let it die, but I guess no one’s going to force me to watch S4.
Adam McCay should be writing this. McBride and company Never graduated out of the YouTube school of filmmaking.
‘I’m Kenny F ckin Powers b tches’.
He’s back! Woohoo!Thee best opening song of any modern show, bar none.
Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck do, ‘Goin’ Down’ some serious respect. Though the-late, great Freddie King does the jam supreme justice.
First Season of EBD was epic. Ground-breaking. Second season was phoned-in and third season was just horrible.
First season was INCREDIBLE!!!! Laughed from beginning to end. Second season was a disaster…there was still so much more he could’ve done as a teacher in that school. It was like a whole new show and a bad one at that. Glad to see him back in the states, Kenny Powers is USA!
