James Bond is getting a lot of play this week. After escorting Queen Elizabeth II to the Olympics‘ Opening Ceremony on Friday, he’s back in the international trailer for Skyfall. Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory and Judi Dench star in the Sam Mendes-directed spy thriller that Sony is releasing in the U.S. on November 9.

This just might be Bond’s reemergence as the best movie franchise around! (It’s only been since the 60s, but) it looks like the producers have learned from the grittiness of Bourne, Batman, and even the last couple of Harry Potter films.
I’m not-so-secretly hoping Javier Bardem’s “Silva” secretly turns out to be Blofeld… or that perhaps SKYFALL hints at his rise to power. Gotta love the classic baddies…
Judy Dench is amazing.
(Maybe they can convince Meryl Streep to play someone evil next go-around to give her an adequate nemesis. HA!)
This trailer was a little too over the top for my taste, as I preferred the tone of the first one. Still, I’m very much looking forward to seeing this.

Doesn’t this sort of seem like the same old thing being brought out again and again? Javier Bardem seems to be encouraged to do his Christopher Walken impression and Q is being re-introduced as a 23 year old hipster. Oy.
well 2 gay icons in 1 film. that’s so fabulous.
i am not a huge fan of the daniel craig bond movies. less because of the actor and more because of the slowly peeling away of all things fleming. it was a shame when the cigs went, then the martinis and then Q. but at least Q is back. we’ll see what else.

Looks like a rehash of half a dozen other Bond flicks. Bond is “dead” (You Only Live Twice), MI6 is bombed (Die Another Day), Javier’s villain is clearly modelled on Zorin from A View To Kill….all in all a big yaaaaaawn.

Just like my non-gender-specific pal ‘Snore’ above me, I’m totally sure this movie will be lame and that I’ll be snoring louder than him/her. Unless it’s cool now to be cynical about being cynical. If it is, then Skyfall will totes be super cool. Either way…

What do you honestly expect? Some plot lines are going to seem familiar given how many movies there are in the franchise.
