Catching Fire should have been the one they split into two movies. Way more material, too much for just two hours.
I read the series to my daughter after reading it myself. I thought the third book was weak at first, but it was much better the second time around. Just don’t make each part of it 2+ hours long. I would much prefer a 2 1/2 hour single movie.
This whole series of books isn’t very good, and the first movie was laughably bad. Apparently everyone else will wake up to this fact in a few years.
That’s bad! We would wait one year more!!! I dying!!!
Poorly written series with a terrible ending. There was so much potential to the story that the author didn’t have the ability to build on. The last movie will probably be released straight to dvd, as by then, audiences will be well over this story.
I agree that Mockingjay was also my least favorite book. HOWEVER, part of why it was my least favorite is because it is still from Katniss’s perspective, and she is unconscious or unaware of what happens a lot of the time so we just hear her sum up what has already happened. In a movie format I hope they expand on the plot and actually SHOW some of the other side – Peeta and Johanna’s torture, the war, Prim’s death and the aftermath, etc. Lots of things happen in the book that would be interesting in a movie – they simply aren’t expounded on enough in the book to make it interesting. Hopefully in a movie format it will be different. . . IF they do it right. But then Hollywood rarely does. No matter what, these ought to be two rather depressing movies since Mockingjay is rather a downer up until the end.
Well honestly they messed up with the last two Twilight books on several things. Anyway yeah I’m tired of books being split into two films. Titanic wasnt and it was much longer than the average movie.
Sorry dude he’s got it right. Mockingjay was quite a mess, especially towards the end, as was the climax of Catching Fire.
This series reminds me a lot of The Matrix Trilogy – the first being a fantastic stand alone work and the 2 subsequent ventures never quite reaching the same heights.
If anything catching fire should be the book that is split into two films. It has way more going on in it than mockingjay. Mockingjay was a good book don’t get me wrong but I don’t really see how they can split it.
i love the hunger games
I loved the books though Mockingjay could have had more detail at the end. I don’t like the idea of a second part and waiting so long. But whatever they do I just hope they stay true to the book and that Katniss and Peeta stay together.
I haven’t read the book, so can’t comment on whether it deserves to be split. However, I agree that the hobbit shouldn’t be three, unless they’re adding in a lot of middle earth background that comes from other book. However, splitting is not always a bad thing. Breaking Dawn is written in two parts, with to focusses (first the pregnancy, then the fight wiþh the volturi) so in many ways the split was sensible. Lord of the Rings could have done with being 6 films, and in truth is written that way – each book is done in two parts. I’ve just seen the hunger games film and liked it, but it had the feeling of a film that had been forced to leave a lot out from the book, and that’s without me having read the book. Splitting isn’t always about money, sometimes its about getting the story right on screen.
Hunger games rules
the hunger games was the best movie ever! i have read all three books and the movie.im obsessed with the hunger games!i am going to be the first person thier to see catching fire.hopefuly i will one day be able to see peeta or katniss one day!
I say they should add more from the books into the movies. in the first one there was so much left out and I thought the books were more interesting if they decide to do like the first one and leave so much out then they should put mockingjay into one movie but if the put more from the book into the movie then they should put it into two parts
I agree. I thought it was GREAT!!!!!!!!!
I agree, I think the first book missed so many little details that make the story it should have been a 2 parter
Shut up and enjoy it, christ on a cracker. I absolutely love the hunger games books and I thought it was awesome that they’re splitting the last movie into two parts. The last book was very fast paced and it was very hard to understand what was going on at times. I think it will be cool to see it pan out on screen and have shots from whats going on in the capitol and whatnot. 390 pages or not that book contained a lot of content that just couldn’t be contained in one 2 hour movie. And on the bright side, they’ll most definitely make the ending with Katniss and Peeta longer, and I’m sure they’ll touch on the rest of the cast’s futures as well which will be great to see!
