Jackie Earle Haley Joining ‘Robocop’ Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Jackie Earle Haley is signing on to star in the Robocop remake that Jose Padilha will direct with Joel Kinnaman playing the title character. Haley will play Maddox, the guy who dispenses the military training to Robocop. Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and Abbie Cornish are also set and actors including Jay Baruchel are circling the final leads.

Haley was most recently seen in Dark Shadows and next up is the Steven Spielberg-directed Lincoln. Haley is repped by WME and managed by Leslie Allen Rice.

Wow. I LOVE Jackie Earl Haley! Loved him so much in Human Target and was heartbroken when it was cancelled. The First Season was brilliant. Hated they added the chicks and it just spiraled down. Jackie was the reason I watched every week. Splendid to know he’s staying in the spotlight and will plan to see Robocop because of him (and Gary Oldman……)

- He was the best thing about Human Target. In fact I’m tempted to say the ONLY good thing about it, and certainly the only good thing about the second season.

Great news. He was great in watchmen. (Also, liked him in Bad News Bears when I was a bit younger).
