  And what a stupid promo… send this to your mom and dad, but the rest of the country doesn’t give a shit about your childhood, Katie. It’s what you’re going to do for the rest of us in your new role that matters. You’re sending like Oprah in her latter years: “me me me me me.” Hope you enjoy watching your show.

  So she fizzled on the CBS Evening News (no gravitas or authority), but daytime is in her wheelhouse.

  And still super-cute at over 50! How can you dislike that face?

  Will probably not watch her new show, but I wish her well, nonetheless.

• Honestly, she’s good at what she does best – the interview, talk-show format. I didn’t hate her as an anchor, bit didn’t watch CBS, either.

  I hate this spot, though. I know it’s pandering to the perceived audience, but it draws the mind immediately, to the millions that she’s making now. She may have grown up “normal,” but she’s a celebrity in 2012. I have worked my ass off, too – was from a “Leave it to Beaver” family, myself. But due to the recession, and the shitheads who run the production industry these days, I live from week to week, after thirty years in the profession. My problem, I know…but just don’t EVER throw those “I’m-just-like-you” BS lines at a potential audience.
